I hope to add a second 12v power outlet so I can charge multiple things without having to use one of those ugly adaptor things plus I can choose where it goes etc..
I've spotted this..
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350661863759?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch% 2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D35066 1863759%26_rdc%3D1
though its for a motorbike looks like it might do the job but I'm worried about teeh power still running to it when my ignition is switched off and killing the battery quick.
Is there a way around this?
Cheers

Power runs through the standard cigar lighter socket anyway? :p
You could fit a relay and make a switched live in conjunction with the ignition switch or you could simply fit an isolation switch near the sockets :)

Splice off the original cig lighter?

Splice off the original cig lighter?
But you're adding sockets to the original fused line, so if you plug in 2 heavy duty items (not impossible) you'll blow the fuse :D

any switched ignition live and an earth... get a multi meter and start hunting around the fuse box. Use an inline fuse too

i just ran another live feed from engine bay, earthed it fused it up and run another cig lighter in back of the coin tray
