Right I know there is an insurance bit but need to know what th Craic is with this.
basically my insurance has just been cancelled by insurance. Sent off all documents and heard nothing. Got a letter today, dated the 20th saying they cancelled it on 15th. Turns out had to send off named drivers license. license ever knew I needed too.
dOes that effect my insurance from now on ?
There is more too it, im starting a complaint, im fuming they sent me a letter 5 days after insurance was cancelled saying its cancelled. They claim they sent an email saying it was happening. The emqil said I hve until 22nd November to send docs. I sent what I thought I needed too, then nevr heard anything else. Thought that was it. Means I've been driving for two weeks with out insurance with out knowing.

lol, someone left your paperwork in a drawer and you ended up driving uninsured. Never heard of that one before.
You can start with taking your business elsewhere, just wow. Makes me wonder what would have happened should you have had an accident or even injured someone. If you gave them phone numbers, then the email excuse does not stand, and they have to prove this anyway.

They should always write to you well in advance and certainly definitely should be doing so if theyre advising if a date of cancellation is impending.
Email is very flawed, not everyone uses it and its easy to forget passwords, get computer viruses etc. Tripping over post on the door mat isnt as easy to miss

They did that with me, they cancelled my policy and 2 weeks later sent me a letter thru the post saying it was cancelled 2 weeks before the letter was sent.
My car was uninsured for 2 weeks and I didn't even know about it, I also past my test few months before so could have lost me licence because of a mistake made my the insurance.
I still got insurance as normal and didn't affect nothing. When I took out a new policy it does say have you been declined insurance before, as it wasn't a fault of your i'd put no.
That was with quinn iirc.

Should have received warning sent via recorded post or another recorded method. My insurance company for my bike sent me warnings regarding cancelling insurance if I did not send various paperwork showing I had correct licence and had passed bike test etc which was all sent recorded. I assume they have relieved you of some cash as a "cancellation fee" / kept the remaining policy amount?

I don't know if it would effect it, but I would definitely say yes when a new company asks. They will more than likely ask for an explanation.
It's easy enough for companies now or days to know if you are lying, they all share info. If you do and they find out then your gonna be in bigger trouble, don't know if they would go to the extent of fraud or not but it wouldn't look good!
I guess it's only like when they ask if you have ever had any accidents. They don't just mean as your fault they mean any full stop so I guess this would be in the same boat. I'd be careful bud.

Not arsed on not driving with no insurance as nothing happened. Well not arsed now, but i have drove 1200 miles since then. Just lucky nothing happemed. Guy on the phone didn't know what to say to me. I know half down to me as I didn't said documents, but it was only named drivers license. Never knew I had to send that.
Just worried now about insurance as they cancelled policy. Tried to explain with my line of work I can't always get to emails. Il explain it too my new insurer, I just can't see this as my fault.

Do they not have phones?
Most insurers use the telephone when something serious happens or you've not sent in documents.
Sending letters by post when your policy has been cancelled is totally unacceptable.

Iv had it whilst with flux aswell (markstudy was the actual ins company)
I went around 10 days with no insurance, I tried complaining etc got nowhere
However I checked my car on askmid. And it still showed as insured this was when I got the letter 10 days after they had said it was cancelled from
Try your reg in www.askmid.com. And see what comes up, it will poss still show as insured hence why you have not been stopped,it would only be in the event of being pulled or a claim would it have come out the car wasn't actually insured
At least you know now,I was the same and luckily managed to find insurance strait away for a hundred quid cheaper with the same mods listed!!

Had a similar one with.... Drumroll* Churchill.http://static.rcgroups.net/forums/attachments/1/2/0/2/4/a1046307-38-Churchill%20dog.jpg?d=1162421116
They requested paperwork, which I provided. Twice + emailed twice as a pdf document as per request. They called me again saying it wasn't valid, and were just about to more than double what they were initially going to charge me.
Since I have a reasonable amount of NCB, it became a clear case of killing the goose that laid the golden eggs, so I warned them I was seconds away from cancelling their ass like a stamp.
"Yeah but but but my computer is telling me that blah bladdyblah blah and your paperwork isn't valid."
"Yeah well tough, my computer is telling me something much cheaper elsewhere, now if you would be so kind and terminate my account."
"Oooooh, no."
"Oooooooooooh, yeeees."
Best day of my life. They sent me loads of arse licking offers afterwards, for years and years. Still, tough shit: they won't insured modified cars, not bothered to check with them if debadging is considered as a mod to start with. Crooked ass thieves.
