They do look quite deep, Cant say for sure if it will clear your window though.

I had a set of In-Phase ones in my old saxo and I couldnt open the window properly - Fail.

Have a look at car audio centre - preferably pop into a shop if you've got a local one.

I've always sworn by In-Phase speakers, they're reasonably cheap buy sound much better than others of similar cost (IMO)

Can always get a bit of a discount if you get them from the store too.

I've found some EDGE speakers which have a mounting depth of 54mm. Do you think I'll be able to mount them if I put some washers between the speaker and the panel so they dont screw flush to the panel? Or will that damage the sound quality?

It will damage the sound quality so bad that you wont have sound quality anymore, It will just be noise... especially with edge speakers.

Have a look at some budget alpines, in-phaze etc... can get a half decent set for around £50, maybe less if you go to a car audio centre, they will give you a good discount if you just ask.

They're cheap crap. I've installed a set, and a sub made by them before and the whole thing was awful. IIRC the lesser brand, but made by vibe.

OP: if you're on a budget, there's JBL.

I've written at least 3 guides on what to look for / reccomendations for audio, not to mention the other 10+ stickies from other knowledgable members offering good advice. have a browse :)
