lowering definitely!
seeing as the standard ride height it probably the worst thing about any saxo. A bit of lowering makes a huge difference

If I had a pound every time I got a pm asking for help boosting an engine I'd be able to afford premium membership by now.
And if I had to PAY a pound for every time that car ended up boosted, i'd STILL be rich. Dreamers...

I'll have to tackle it at an angle i recon..
Dont think the council will make a smaller kerb in. Would be ideal though..

If it's an access that's been there for a long time and it's recognised as a driveway the council are obliged to put in a dropped kerb.
Unless English laws are fucked up as I know some of their council ones are :P
My driveway has a peak at the end, exhaust sometimes just catches on it and my GTI is only lowered 50mm :panic:

edit; far too much.
MartinObviously
6th January 2013, 00:13
fixed for you
almost, but:
You only need to apply for permission from the council.
The council does not have to do the works - although you may find difficulty telling them this. The council should inspect the work after it's completed though.
Also depends if the road is council adopted or if it belongs to a housing association/private. private non council estates are much easier to get works done.
cheap cheap :y:
The cost is probably legal "protection" as the council call it, if someone trips and falls due to loose kerbstones etc and put a claim in.

Was going to cost around £1200 for a mate, that was subsidised by the council as well, you have to go pay for materials labour and tooling
You can do your work yourself as above.. But not advisable unless you can get stuff free tbh, as by the time you've paid for plans and submitted them, costed in materials (have to fit in with the rest of the street, and done the work, which has to be inspected by a council official at expense to you and must meet their approval
It easier just to get them to do it
MartinObviously

Cost varies from council to council :p
Just take a saw to the kerb and cut a 30 degree slope on it.
We used to pass plans from office to office. stuff only got seen to about once a month- it was ok'd then passed back to admin who send it to legal and all this shite :P
