why do people always go of the max figure:wacko: it's never been a 8000w amp, try reading up on max figures and how much they are blown well out of proportion ie they can be 3 times or more normel power

it gives out 3000w rms witch is the main thing but it does say
Specifications: Output Power (14.4v)
(When bridging the channels)
1 x 8,000 watts Max (@ 2 ohm)
so he does have to pay up lol

What Dave means is that it may state that power, but will probably never see anything like that.
I did a test on one of these amps a couple of months back. Results were not good, I used one of these to power my 2 RE Audio SX 12s, stats from the amps website said it should kick out 2 x 1500w rms at 1 ohm. The subs barely excurted. My 2 RE 12.1s which give each sub 1200w excurted the subs a good 15mm.
I my review, I would say the amp does not put out more than 500w RMS x 2. Max Power rating mean nothing, ignore them.

thats good info if some1 wants to buy one but it does sate it does give out 8000w maybe not rms but it does lol he needs to pay up LOL

Its a claimed to be a 3000w RMS amp at 2ohms. Not 8000w. So its not a 8000watt amp at all! RMS is how to state amps not bullshit MAX watts.
I will payup as soon as I get genuine evidence of that amp out putting 8000 watts without distortion!
Unfortunatly the Lynchy_1984 fund is not a registered charity. So I would not pay to that. I will pay any chartity that was registered before this thread was started the same day as I get genuine evidence of power output.

Everyone might aswell stop trying to make out that Dave was wrong in what he said because he was 100% right. His actual post was:
If that amp puts out 8000w I will give £50 to the charity of your choise!
He did not say "Show me where it states 8000w", he said it will not put out that in reality, which is true as I have explained in an earlier post. The quoted figures, both RMS and Max are highly exagerated to appeal to people that want to be able to respond to "I've got a 2000w amps" with "well i've got an 8000w amp!"
The figures are untrue and there is very little sound quality in this brands amps unfortunatly.

I wont have to think twice about saying anything!

Ratings are not a guarantee
Obviously this is going no-where, it appears people just are not going to listen. Just because a manufacturer states a power figure does not mean that it gives that sort of power. The only way to tell is off of a birth sheet that is supplied with most amps (and even these can be falsified, if a company does not care), when I bought one of these to test it out I was not given one, suspitious, I think so. They obviously expected me to believe the numbers printed on the amp casing.
NOTE: In regard to the sentence "and even these can be falsified" in the above paragraph. Most respected companies will not provide a false birth sheet because it provides reason for multiple returns and a lack of future trust in the manufacturer, but some companies that aim at unexperienced customers do not care, and may falsify them or not even supply them at all if their core audience would not expect to get one.
If you have not already realised:
Lower end gear that really should not be touched like Legacy, In Phase and Loudest.com always state max power ratings (as their main selling point) as apposed to the real ratings (RMS).
Budget gear (good value for money) like JBL, Vibe and Magnat will usually produce pretty accurate RMS figures but usually slightly exagerated.
Higher end gear like DLS, JL Audio and Genesis are usually very generous with the ratings and never use max power ratings in any of there products, for example a Genesis Series 3 Four Channel amplifier's specifications are 4 x 50w rms at 14.4v, this will usually be more like 4 x 95w rms.
At the end of the day it is a pointless argument, that needs to come to and end before it starts to get abusive between members.

^^^ very true, bit like the 6x9 threads, some people listen others don't, we can only try to educate lol

The reason Genesis, DLS etc give lower then actual ratings was because of sound off classes a few years ago. The competition sections went on stated power outputs not actual ones.
CSVTR

I knew about the sound-offs, my points were that companies such as Genesis, DLS, PHD etc do not need to exagerate their stated power ratings to attract buyers, people buy their products because of build and sound quality not stupid (max power) ratings that will never be seen in reality.

lol made the install from all shite i had layin about from past installs etc.theres a reason its an "old install",it sounded great but to be honest looked shite with all 6 9's/layout and a duno if the rms power rating is true on the amp but they were loud and decent quality.Didnt know certain people would have a paddy about it:D: .that power cap in middle of subs used, ive got a heafty second battery behind passenger seat.when a put new fibreglass install in i'll take a few pics, this time its a permanant install, not something i did in a day!
