I have an iPad mini and I was undeicded between this, the 10.1, samsung galaxy tab 2 7 and a somy experia tab.

The 10.1 was ruled out as it was too large for what i wanted, I didnt want one for using on my lap or on a table but to hold in noth hands and type with my thumbs. I was torn between the tab 2 7inch and ipad mini, big price difference for what I would be able to tell as the same peice.

I decided for the tab2 but, it disnt have hdmi output which i wanted and also having used android for a few years now, i know it can have glitches that never get sorted out that remain. So thought id opt for the more expensive ipad mini 32gb. Almost £200 more but the Apple os is alot more reliable and easy to use. Also has HDMi output and a host of extra bits n bobs like stands etc.

After optimg for the iPad i saw the sony experia tab which was around the same price as a mini. It looks amazing, sleek and has HdMi output. After reading alot of reviews there were too many glitches and for the price the hardware is already out smarted from the day it was released.

I settled for the 32gb iPad Mini for £355.

Im glad i went for it too, so easy to use, glitch free, great market too. Only thing I dont like about it is the widgets. To start with thr iOS seems very refined and limited and a little too simple for me, but ive got used to it now and love it.

Spec wise the ipad isnt up to its pricetag, but i guess its OS works better with its hardware and ttherefore matches the android sets.

Dont worry about app selection, google is up there with apple now. Although i do miss the widgets androids have.

Ipad also has exceptional battery life.

How long does your battery last?

Mine last 7hrs+ on a constant run.

Around 11 hours. But ive never used it for 11 hours straight, however going off how kuch battery was used for my stint, the 11 hours is perfectly able.

I use my iPad before work for 3 hours then after work for another 3 hours. It lasts for around 4/5 days like this!

Nah i only did one night because i was testing it out seeing how it ran constantly. atm my battery lasts a few days, easily.

Btw the the other Samsung tablet you mentioned is abit different to the 10.1.

Cant remember what but it isnt up to spec like the 10.1.

1.ghz or something..

Oye, its just a mini 10.1, and the hardware is downgraded too. They were both only noted as options due to their size. The 10.1 is on par with the ipad 4 spec wise isnt it? Or is that the note? If its the 10.1 then Id imagine the note walks all over the ipad and then its down to which OS you prefer.

It's too big to fit up my bum.

I didn't think it was possible for something to be too big?

everything made by apple sucks.

who ever likes apple has been brain washed.

android is sooooo much better.

can install 3rd party apps not just what your governed to do by apple.

customization on android is sooo much better

most people buy apple things just becuase they think its "cool".

since working at my current compamy for 2 years now most people have left apple and gone to android and they have all seen the light.

And just literally thrown there apple stuff away :)

Also every technophobe i know always refers to ipad or iphone just coz theve been brain washed.

Only my opinion so slate me all you like

Other than the two poor reasons you posted, how is Android 'soooo much better'?

why android is better

1 - Customizing your phone appearance to make it feel more personal
2 - What ever apple says goes.
3 - Can install apps which dont have to go through the app store ie itunes
4 - Apple forces you to use its email app and Safari Web browser
5 - You dont have to have a stupid connection for phone/tablet to pc connection, with android various products use the same
6 - expandable memory in most cases
7 - Where on earth is the back button on apple devices.

I use both android and iOS on a daily basis. iOS wins. Imam completely objective. I think windows is a better OS than OSX for example.

To take it point by point

1 - really? I can have whatever back ground pic I want on iOS. Does having a different clock position make that much of a difference. You can still do this on iOS fairly easily by jail breaking. Ok that's a modification but so what
2 - see my point above. I rate windows above OSX. iOS above android.
3 - same with iOS. Quick and stable jailbreak and job done. Though there's nothing that can't be found in the App Store
4 - erm no they don't. I'm typing this on opera just to prove a point on my iPad
5 - not sure you are getting at
6 - fair point however that's down to the phone manufacturer not android
7 - why would you need a back button when the software doesn't require it and if it does its right where the programmer has written it to be. On safari its top left.

As I say I use both android and iOS daily (as well as win7/8 and OSX) and iOS is far more polished and easy o use than android

Also on iOS you don't get your carriers fucking bloat ware stealing devices forcing you to root and reflash just to stop wanky fucking apps robbing you of resources.

Brain washed? No fucking likely
