Hey I'm new!

Hey,

I'm Iain and I'm looking at getting a Saxo for my first car. If things go well on Tuesday I'll be a proud owner of a Saxo at the end of next week. So fingers crossed! Hopefully i'll pass my drivers test (already failed it once lol).

So I'm 19, unemployed (but designing a game). I'm a bit of a tech nerd, so if you have any computer troubles I'll be able to help. Living just outside of Cheltenham, but originally from the USA.

I would like to own a Blue or Black Saxo (not sure yet) but it's gotta be cheap to insure. Cheapest quote I've gotten for a 1.1 is £1150.35 fully comp.

Mod plans: performance mods will be as close to standard as possible with an aftermarket exhaust and air intake. Will have strut brace, lowered 35-40mm (not too low), bbs alloys, leather interior, nardi steering wheel and stickers (gonna sticker bomb the gas cap).

Your insurance will go up lots when you pass your test, so be prepared.

Make sure you ask an insurer how much your premium will go up to after you pass :y:

You also have to upload pictures of your car when you get it :P and all the mods. start a progress blog too eh :D

I got that quote after messing with gocompare for someone who has just passed there test. Currently on £750 a year for a 998cc mini.

I'll start a progress blog when I get the car, my younger brothers got a nice DSLR so I'll get him to take pics with it :y:

I'm looking forward to not paying £70 a week on driving lessons any more (dole money going to waste :P)

Wish I had bought a mini 1000 as my first car, insurance is dirt cheap in comparison to my 106 diesel I had.

What type of game are you designing? I'm more into microcontrollers, myself :fcuk:

It's an old-school style RPG game (think old Zelda) making it with a piece of software called RPG Maker VX Ace.

The Mini I'm currently learning to drive in is probably faster than a stock 1.1 saxo :P

It probably is, I learned to drive in a 1.6 turbo diesel mini. horrible driving position imo lol

1.1 saxo will struggle for 100mph, pure town driving really :D

Does have a better top speed though. not that anybody here speeds :)
