Have you ever seen a saxo airbag work?

Ive seen an old girl crash into some roadside railings at slow speed.mashed the wing up but not too serious. As she was climbing out the car the bag went off. We heard the bang and thought the car was on fire.
Wasnt so funny at the time, but looking back its pretty funny

Apparently the fire brigade use a device which clamps over the wheel so the air bag can't explode while someone is being rescued from a car. Much be a strong bit of kit to hold an airbag back though. Never seen them go in a saxo, went in my old mx5 though. Scared the shit out of me.

When I crash my saxo, never went off. Saxo air bags are rare at going off, unless you don't re-connect them right when you take your steering wheel off.

I was speaking to a guy who works at a local scrapyard said he's had over 200 crashed Saxo's, he reckons only a handful had deployed lol

I know a guy whos went off when he was removing his seats
He hadnt unplugged the pretensioner wires so it shorted the circuit as he yanked

Tbh airbag components are in an ideal world replace every 10 years and most Saxos now are over 10 years old

yeah my mate once hit a speedbump to fast, the bump hit his gearbox mount and then got the airbag in his face lol

My friend rolled his in an interesting scenario (ive lost the pictures, if i find them i will post)
He tore the passenger side suspension out taking the driveshaft from the box and tearing the passenger footwell out beneath the carpet. The car rolled and after all this, not one airbag had gone off!
