Hi everyone,

Power steering pump packed in.

Got a replacement one but it's not working.

Took it to a garage today who advised me that no power is getting to the pump.

All fuses checked and seem to be fine?

Any advice please as my car is up for MOT again on Saturday?

How did they fail for having no power steering?

Not all cars have it lol

srs = serious.

if it's there and doesn't work, it's going to fail, if it isn't there, then they cannot test it therefore it cannot fail.

Is your heater blower and heated rear screen working? If not loads of threads on here (I know cos my pas is knackered, got new pump then noticed heater, heated rear screen fault) Basically it could be the ignition switch, there is a plug that you can disconnect and bypass, can't remember which right now. If that fails to fix it, it could be the alternator.

As said, could be alternator. Not sure on Saxos but on some cars, if the alternator packs or/on the way out then it trips a switch which cuts power to all unneeded auxilaries eg PAS/Heaters etc to help the battery last as long as possible
