It's ok/good but better than PH? For what?
Truly, I doubt you could tell the difference between the applications. If I did half your car in AG & the other half in DDJ PH you wouldn't be able to tell. Where they differ would be in endurance of the finish & protection and on ease of application depending on if they were both soft or hard waxes.
Infact just quickly, if I went outside and removed all my protection off my car and then Qd'd it with Demon shine and told you it was XYZ you'd never know and it would shine just as well.
I strongly believe it is all in prep where most of the difference in finishes is determined and in LSP/Glazes but still don't think you can really see any difference between any. The least fallout ect on your paint which acts like a mask the better then tap it up with your choice of shizzle.
I'm not a pro so it's just my opinion but I have used many products at $$$£££ chasing that epic finish and think bar protecting my paint better for shine ect it's placebo. If it looks good and lasts that's what I aim for now.
Sorry for the long post just a thought though!

Well like I said I'm not a pro but it's what I believe after my experience so if srs... lol
Talking in terms of durability I'd suggest taking a look at DW they have done a few durability tests on waxes ect and I'm not a pro and haven't used everything out there but I have used quite a few different products.
For me;
The best wax that I've used for durability so far is DDJ SN and it bloody wants to be for the price. Until I have finished the last of my Light fantastic & my BV I won't spend another penny on any other - infact I doubt I will bother spending top dollar unless something stands out to me in tests on DW now.
In terms of finish, I'll hold my hand up and say I can't see a difference between SN & any other wax I've used but the SN held up for longer in durability.
I have used other brands like - AutoFinese *fairly recently* - imo just a new Dodo Juice fancy funky tins and bottles and smells...
FinishKare 1000p wax sealant was very good for the price and AG HD was also good but I'd opt for a cheap Dodo Juice wax over HD like Rainforest Rub.
Anyway,
So
Pre cleaners and degreasers
Tardis
Iron X
APC - Daisy cheap but does the job
Snow foam - it's useful but don't expect it to strip all the shit from your car, it will just loosen it unless you clean, wax and use a decent sealant often-ish. I know alot of people who are dissapointed thinking it will literally clean your car with no effort involved.
Clay - harshness you chose depending on how bad you need it
Polishes
GTechniq P1
Menzerna Polishes *I do love*
3m are good but dollar
Meguairs I do quite like, I'd use them again
Wax
FK1000p or cheap Dodo Juice RFR on the cheap spectrum
Sealant
FK1000p or Nano body wrap or the Hybrid SN * that was good*
Shampoo
Megs - Gold class or Dodo Juice SN
Metal polish
Autosol
Can't really think of much to add really, infact the whole post is probably going to be hard to read because I'm half asleep lol.
Any questions feel free to ask, remember I'm not a pro as I keep saying but I am known for being a fanny with cleaning shiz and I've learned the hard way by parting with top dollar in some instances for results that could imo be achieved with cheaper products, you'd just need to use more product overall.
Happy reading lol

Thanks mate, I do take my detailing quite seriously, since I left uni and have had low funds I have really had to think about what I am spending which has taught me a lesson. I now have what is needed and not a ridiculous amount of 'cool' branded stuff laying around.
Talking engine bays, I did a how to polish and tidy your bay thread a few years back that was recently bumped.
However, just for you...
APC
Gunk
Meguairs Endurance gel
Various brushes
Vac
Metal polish
Carnauba containing QD
Wax
Sealant
I would personally start with using a vac in all the nucks and cranny's to remove easy dust and dirt.
I would then apply APC to the bay, obviously as always be careful of those electric items. So wrap them in a jumbo condom and carry on.
Me myself I never use a pressure washer or hose in my bay, purely because the water will go everywhere and what you don't dry will sit and possibly cause the dreaded tin worm. So use a sponge, brushes and water to remove the APC & grime after agitation.
Depending on how greasy the engine block is and depending on if you pressure wash your bay, apply gunk to areas effected by oil, leave to dwell and pressure wash off.
Once everything is dry, apply Megs endurance gel to all the plastics, and remove any excess as it will look greasy as apposed to nice and restored.
Anything metal, should be attacked with metal polish of choice, for me that's Autosol.
Any painted items should be treated as you would body work.
Bar that,
I work like this, any dirt or grime no matter how little detracts from the overall finished article, so the more effort you put in the more you get out. Keep on top of the bay, and clean it regularly and find new things to clean and you are on to a winner.
Also, any plastic or rubber caps I'd remove and soak them in soapy water and restore them so they look brand new.
I'm at work so this is probably quite vague in places so I do apologise.

Jeez Jamie you are a cleaning geek.
I like HD better than DJ, I truely could tell the difference, hence why I put up i was happy with it and wouldnt go out my way to get DJ again. Different waxes give different finishes and reflections, I dont whore up the section all the time, but my cars have always been on par with yours so I know what I like to use. And yes you could strip my car and tell me xyz is on it, but im not saying that I can tell what every wax is from just looking at it, just that Hd works alot better on my car than the DJ has

Yates I think fk 1000p would look great on your Evo, it would give it a really nice glassy look if that's what you like. Really easy to apply a quite cheap really for the size of the tin.

Meow lol.
Chill dude, you said it was better than DDJ PV in a general statement that's how I read it which is why I said what I said about finishes durability ect as I know it's easy to get hooked.
Whether your cars are on par with mine is nor here nor there. I wasn't implying I'm better than you or any of that sort of crap just sharing my experience which I thought you'd possibly appreciate as I have wasted quite a bit of money on hyped up stuff.
I wouldn't say I whore up the section if that's what you're implying? but if that's how it's seen I don't need to. I just add my stuff because I'm usually proud of the results and I like to share, I like pictures...It's just unfortunate I drive a car not many people appreciate but that doesn't usually stop me.
Luckily your preferred is very available to you so that's great. I wasn't on a srs one. :y:

So is Autoglym not for you then Jamie? Am interested in why it hasnt made the list :)

Honestly, I like to apply things that are a little special. Autoglym anyone can buy down their local Halfrauds branch. It's not bad stuff as such but it's my personal preference to choose something with added zest.
Dodo Juice talk about recipes and keep people up to date with progress on up-coming projects. Auto Glym seem to just sell stuff they have for many years, albeit with different recipe's now. They also make alot of inferior products like their tar remover, alloy cleaner and I hate the dust from SRP.
I took a liking to the Dodo Juice range a few years ago and I really rate their waxes.
Excellent level of gloss
Easy application even with hard waxes
Great durability
Smell great bar SN V2
I still maintain it's all down to prep and that there will be minimal differences to set waxes apart in terms of gloss.
