Just wanted to know what clutch would be best to handle the extra power and if I can use the gti shafts in the 1.1 saxo box??
Thanks

What extra power? the gearbox wont give you any extra power the standard clutch will be fine. Also why are you using a 1.1 box you know there is no advantage over a gti one?

Well I was told you gained some acceleration but lost out on top end. Well the extra power of the gti engine compared to my 1.1 lol

So you would continue using the gti clutch seeing as you cant fit a 1.1 clutch to it.

And just stick with your vts box. Shouldnt listen to the first advise as though its gospal.

You dont really gain any acceleration to be honest, the overall output of the box's are very similar but you go to a poorer diff in the 1.1 box. Ive had both on mine.

Also when people say you get more acceleration/less top end they dont mean the power of the engine changes

AFAIK the VTS/1.1 box was made for lower end acceleration/torque anyway? whereas the VTR has the longer top end box so the gains are more noticeable on a VTR opposed to VTS/GTi? Might be wrong but thats what I've read with people saying there are noticeable gains, really only good on track though, dont fancy having shit MPG on motorway runs cos of the box!

yes your right a 1.1/16v box will make a noticeable difference on a vtr but not a vts

The boxes to pick would be an S1 Rallye or 1.4XSi gearbox if you wanted the shortest final drive available from Pug. The 1.1 doesn't have the sporty cluster just a shorter FD.
