Anyone know of or done a engine change with a JP4 engine (106 gti) to a vtr 2001 or point me in the right direction as have a project on just looking to get some info on process from someone thats done it before cheers

106Gti isnt a jp4 matey. is it a jp4 engine you have or a 106 gti one? 106 gti is a J4

was told it was a jp4 but im picking it up tomorrow so ill be able to tell you then haha £100 so cant argue for either engine, are they both similar enough to the vts engine (2001) or is the jp4 2000+ and j4 2000-

J4 is used in all 16v 106/saxos from 1996-2003. Jp4 was introduced into C2's and other cars in the range. They are less powerful at only 110hp. A JP4S is a C2 vts engine at 125hp.

cheers told it is a j4 engine from a 2000 106 gti with 87k on the clock picked up checks out pre 2000 single plug ecu 16valve just need to find the engine number on it as is covered in sludge so only problem nw is getting the ecu's to marry up/splice or get a 2001 vts loom and ecu
