As above. I have a 106 GTi and thinking of ditching the leaking sunroof as I would like to get the car paintwork tidied up and soon as the headlining is already out this would be a good time to do it :D
Vote on the poll and say why you have voted either option.
Pic of car as it is

Exactly, sensible is good. :y:
I would prefer my car without a sunroof as well to be honest.

Would be more of an investment to de sunroof it. It will probably last another year before the roof itself starts letting water in.

I haven't either haha, I just don't like the look of them for some reason.
And I find them noisey when you have them open in the summer.

smooth is always good  and I'm thinking long term as this would prelong the like of the car as well. I don't want to spend £2k on a full respray on a car with a leaky roof :n:

Yeah thats true, but I just find the sunroof extra noisy.

Its not even about the looks I still like the way it looks with a sunroof but I'm trying to think practically so I think the sunroof will have to go.

Just seal it up with silicone, cheap and does the trick. Wont look any different if you do a clean job!

Do you use the car on track?
If not there is nothing stopping you from using a product called fuzor to bond the new skin to where it sits. You could do it all at home and would save you a fortune you would just need the glass removing.
The fuzor is used to bond aluminium panels onto new cars instead of welds and you can actually tear the metal before the fuzor breaks bond.

if youre planning on keeping your car for a while then id get rid of the sunroof. Having a leak sounds like such a pain in the arse, my mates gti used to have one from the windscreen, was a nightmare lol in the winter the water would turn into ice inside his car haha
my sunroof dont leak, but i havent opened it in years. Id rather it not even be there tbh, the covers always shut anyway
