someone has probs already asked this but i cant find a thread for it...
is it possible just to change the drum on a rear axle from a 3 stud to a 4 stud drum?
tryin to put my old vts wheels on my brother's 1.1, sorted the front end out with some old struts i had knockin about.
any help welcome, cheers.

heard somewhere you can do cant remember where though. as long as the diameter and stuff is the same i cant see a problem, get a 2nd hand drum and try it?

im pretty sure you need a whole 4 stud beam, which also requires different handbrake cables

hmmmm, i think i'll take the hubs off and measure them. then compare them to some 4 stud ones, i'll let you know the results. if not new beam and cables it is!

Speak to Mikol (Mike). What he doesn't know about 3/4 stud options isn't worth knowing.

It is possible to swap the drums, as long as you swap the backplates and stub axles. This I have done, on three occasions.
It is far easier to swap the entire beam.
