I've got bucket seats in my car, so there are the leftover orange wires under the seat.

Can I for example, go to the scrapyard, cut off the wires from another seat.
Join the two cut wires together- solder or connect etc. then connect to the existing connector in my car (battery disconnected of course)

Will this work? Or cause problems? I've got an mot coming up next month and want to pretty much remove the light.

Any info guys?

I think you can just use a 10ohm resistor.

So I can get the connector from the seat, cut it and solder/ attach the two ends to te resistor like as pictured and problem solved?

Cheers
