My diff is fucked, I know this already.. Sounds like I'm running straight cut gears lol

But seems to be throwing the power from one side to the other every now and again when I accelerate hard.. Usually the left

Thought it was wheel spin at first but it's not, seems to be shifting most of the power to one wheel

Anyone experienced this before? Drove a fair few cars with various levels of dieing diff.. But never had one that's done this

Perhaps the bearing holding the diff on the right has failed meaning theres more resistance that side hence throwing drive the other way?

Dont mean to be a smart ass but check the gearbox oil first,
I find it quite difficult that crunching gears is down to damaged diff.

Hes possibly referring to a whining diff memtioning straight cut

From how you've explained it, I'd say you've possibly snapped a tooth off one of the planet gears. Quickest way to possibly tell is to drain the oil and see if there's any metal in it.

I've had two fail in this way.

Andy, I hate to say it - you're clearly not getting rid of the car, so just get a quaife and be done with it. John's got a deal on MA quaifes at the moment so you wount find cheaper new...

Got fluid, as Alex sais my diff is whining like a cock

Ross, the diff is on the cards but I'm deciding where to go next, I've got a few options, I just need to pick one

Don't really want to get a diff for an ma box, but I've never had any grief with them

So I just need to decide where I'm going

Try some of that wynns PTFE stuff in it, be interesting to see how much noise it can quieten down on a truly fucked box :D

My Diff to whines when I'm in gear 1 for example and naturally slowing down.

I replaced the oil, Slick 50 and it's helped but coming back now.
