Hi guys, I posted on here a while ago about my speakers seeming to cut out when i go round a right hander, I used my brain and thought it could be the drivers side speaker on its way out or not up to the job the head unit is asking of it...
Anyway i need to know how exactly to get to the speaker, Some threads on here are making me think that you can just pop the guard over the speaker off(the bit that looks like its attached to the doorcard) my head is saying you need to take the whole doorcard off though.
If this is the case and as well as this does anyone know what size torx screwdriver i need to undo the screws? anyway any thoughts on any of my problems are always welcome ;)
Cheers guys and girlies! :afro:

take the door card off. Easy job, undo the screw in the grab handle and one under the windmirror adjustment, then pull the door card away from the door and up.
Clips are a few pence each from citroen but usually in bags of 100 or so.

Also pop wind mirror adjust cover off as it will get in the way.
you cant really cock it up, so just go at it.

You can get to the front speakers by just popping off the grills. You will then need to drill the rivets out and replace with screws or rivets again
If you want to take the door car off then there are two torx t20 screws, one in the door pull and one up at he mirror. Poop the door card off from the bottom then up,both sides and lift it up and off

No need to remove door cards, removing grill gives plenty of space
I had a go at changing my front speakers yesterday, ran out of light so gonna do the rear today. But it really is as simple as they make it sound. Personally, I would just remove the whole doorcard, gives you plenty of room. It took me about 15 mins per speaker. That included putting new connectors on as well!

I'm also looking for some new front speakers as the cones have come away and buzz all the time. I don't want another amp as I may be selling the car soon, so I need to run them off my HU, so for around £30 what speakers could I get?

Coax will be fine if your running off your HU.

Nice one mate. And all these will fit the depth too? Might go for the GT6-5s.

Not too sure which are best, I've heard GTO's are better than the GT5's though. Can't remember the depth either but a quick search on here will bring it up.
Even if they are too deep, it won't be much so worst comes to worst you just space them out with a thin piece of MDF.

Ah yes didn't notice the ones at the top have been reduced so much. So reckon the GTO 527s are the best bet?

After a little looking around I did go for the GTO 527s. They are slightly cheaper including P&P from their eBay shop:

You will need some 8+mm mdf spacer rings for them to fit, without them, your window wont go down.
Mounting depth on a saxo is 53mm MAX

Should I swap to the GT5-502s then? 53mm depth on those.
