Hi people. Saw a 205 gti the other day with yellow headlights that looked minted on a wee French car. Any ideas if they are available for Saxo's or is it a DIY job? Also are they legal?
Cheers, Kyle

so ive read yellow film is perectly legal on uk roads as you have yellow bulbs that are road legal, so its a case of filming up your headlights.
someone may correct me but long as it doesnt distort bulb colour or beam pattern then its road legal

So would you need to place yellow film on/inside the headlight aswell as having yellow road legal bulbs or just the film with standard bulbs?
Anyone done this before for some advice?

Cheers for the replies. No sure what to do. 2500k Hids look mint but don't know how practical they would be with night driving. Also some bulbs that are advertised as yellow or blue end up just having a slight tint to them. I want proper banana flavour lol

I have yellow film over my fogs and Halfords All Weather H4 Headlight bulbs, they are yellow by all means but have a tint of blue mixed in the lense, your better off buying MTEC Golden Yellow H4 from eBay theyre a fraction of the price of the Halfords ones and defo be more yellow, yellow is perfectly legal, its anything over white thats illegal :y:

Major bump but hate when people don't update their threads etc. So after putting it off for what looks like a year these arrived in the post today. I will get some pics up later at night to show how they look.

Quick question on these. To my knowledge (not much) headlights bulbs in the UK are legal if there are yellow or white. These are obviously yellow and are 55/60W H4 but state on the side that they are for off-road use only? Is this because they are Japanese or aimed at an American market? I'll keep the night breakers in the glove compartment just incase but hopefully it won't be a problem with the screws.

Ive ran yellow headlight bulbs for over a year and fog bulbs. I love them. Standard 3k output just emit yellow. I bought mine from ECP. Fine for MOT, never had hassle.

Right had an absolute nightmare trying to take a picture with the iPhone camera. Just doesn't show up at all so had to grab a snap off of google images that was as close as I could find. They aren't 3000k hid yellow but they are very similar to this…

Bargain at £12 posted off of amazon I'm sure. They really do look the dogs bawz but I just can't get it to show up in the picture. Not sure if Prickle has a pic of his.

I've had mine yellow for months now. Never had any problems. Unlike you, I got the bulb caps and they clip over your headlight bulbs. I love them.

I thought about them but didn't know if it was going to be a mare fitting them through the holes in the headlights and wasn't sure about beam pattern etc.

I was tempted to put yellow film over my headlights but my concern is that the indicators and headlights are one unit in the mk2's. I dunno if covering the indicators would be an mot fail or w/e which is what put me off doing it.
I took my foglights out before Christmas and put yellow film tint, cost 3 quid including p&p on eBay and I was fairly happy with the finish for a first timer! Might be tricky with bigger headlights though especially the curvy saxo ones.
