View Full Version : Squeak from o/s rear when going over pot holes...

It's just the offside. It's the same kind of noise you get when you loosen off a tight bolt- kind of a squeaky creak or something.. When I bump down off a kerb or go over a pot hole, at any speed up to like 30 or 40 (that's as fast as I've gone since I noticed).
I've recently replaced the wheel bearing, shock absorber and the rear axle is about 2 months old.
Any ideas what this could be? I've had a look but I can't see anything obvious that's loose or broken.. :panic:

Mine did this - was the rear damper bottom bolt squeaking.. WD40 + tighten and i've never heard it since :)

Cheers, I'll give this a try just now.

Nah, it wasn't that. I've checked the bolts holding the axle on the car and they're fine too... Everything to do with suspension/wheels is at the correct torque. Could it be a duff wheel bearing? There's no play or anything though. Ahh :wall:

Thanks for that, arb bolts were a bit loose. I tried tightening the bolt on the o/s first but it was a bastard to get at so only managed to turn it about 1/16 turn but then looked at the one on the n/s and it was a bit loose. Tightened it and squeaking has gone. Yass :)
