Im in need of an everyday car, id still like a golf or audi, but im thinking about investing the money elsewhere and getting a cheaper car.

Went to look at this today....what do you think?

Its a 1999 T reg
VTR
70,000 miles
Tax and Mot
Lowered

It was very very tidy, the paintwork was amazing! Slight corrosion on the Rocker cover and the battery tray, but that was about it!

not a good price really. i paid £2400 for a V reg mk2 VTR with 48,000 on clock but it does look nice. So upto you i say you could get newer and lower mileage for £2000 though

Everyone says that Saxo's are going for nothing these days but they're not, well not in my area anyway...

A average miled Mk2 VTS is in the 5/6k mark, and decent VTRs are 4ish, Furios are around 4ish too...

A bit pricey and has probably been ragged seeing as it's lowered.

is overprised, i paid £2500 for mine 2000 x reg vtr with 36k on clock

Mirror caps were on them from S plates onwards I think as mine was a T reg and it had them on. It was only the really early 97-98's that had no mirror caps.

Would probably see if he'd take £1800 but £2k isnt bad.

I think £2k is a pretty good price tbh.

It looks immaculate, it's lowered and mileage is still about average. I mean if you have got it down £500 for cash, well thats a good deal.

Back from the test drive!

And im abit disapointed, the accelerator was really really stiff and the engine managment light popped on while i was driving it. He said the light was due to them steam cleaning it recently? Could the accelerator pedal be fixed? Im talking REALLY stiff. was a pain to drive really!

Chris - I just sold my X reg with 64K on the clock for £2500, so a T reg for £2000, does seem a little bit pricey mate!

Yea, im going to leave that one i think!

Found a 02 plate VTR with 37,000 miles totally standard for £2750. Asked him if he will take £2500, if he will its mine!

I was abit scarred driving the saxo! After having the polo that has amazing brakes the saxo seemed like i was going to crash into everything!

Was mucho fun though, he let me take it out on my own, handled really well being lowered, i did 4 laps of one round about, stuck very well! Was nippy too!

£2000 for a VTR with 70,000 miles
You have to think about selling it after you have used it mate.. if you keep it for about 1 year maybe 2 your looking at putting about 20-25 thousand miles on the clock. I dont think anyone will want to buy a car that has 100,000 miles on the clock.. its nearly dead
