Hey guys,

been sorting through some things at home at come across some old models i had stashed away that i had totaly forgot about!

Im not realy intrested in keeping them anymore so im thinking of selling them on.

I have no idea if they are worth much or may be worth more in years to come.

here are some pics, all are 1/18 scale, boxed and in perfect condition. The F1 cars appear to be from the 1999-2000 season.

Still fairly recent and all part of mass produced collections so not big bucks.

I had guessed they wouldnt be worth huge amounts, like you say they are not realy old.

Iirc they wer roughly £30-£40 each when i bought them.

I would hold onto them for a fair few years yet, then see what they are worth. :)

same as one of mine above http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=280703810152&index=7&nav=SEARCH&nid=35901116357

I would happily sell for that!

Only ones that's worth any real money are the first 10 of every run mate. Other than that you are looking at waiting at least 10-20 years.

But if every one is doing what I do with the moto gp bikes then in 10-20 years then they are going to be worth the same as today unless they are signed.

Collecting them is like a guessing game.

hmm well ive waited 13 years already haha

tbh they are just taking up space, realy stuck as to sell now for about £40 each or hold onto them and hope for more..

Hold onto them, I have loads of models. :y:

You might even change your mind and want to keep them, or worse you might sell them now for £40, but 20 years down the line they could be worth 10x as much.

You'll probably get the ~£40 back for them mate tbh. The 2000 Jenson Button Williams is probably worth the most as it was his first F1 car so you might get ~£50 to the right person but you might need to wait a while for that person to turn up - no offence.

I'd say the Minichamps are worth the most of that collection - Hot Wheels, Maisto, Mattel could never quite match them for detail or quality IMO. If you ever go to an F1 event it might be worth taking those JB models with you and trying to get them signed - if you do, get a picture of Button signing them so people know it's genuine. That should up the value of them a fair bit :y:

If I were you, I'd hold onto them - you may get your money back but you might be waiting a while. I'm a massive Mark Webber fan and have his 2002-2006 Minichamps 1/43 models all signed by him that will only go up in value - I probably wouldn't ever sell them but it's nice to know they're worth a fair bit.

Same with a few other models I've got: I bought two Lewis Hamilton models of his 2007 showcar for a fair bit and know they're worth almost double that now - they've never been out the bubble wrap they came home in and they were bought purely to make money on. It's a waiting game unfortunately!

ive got about 10 of these 1:18 scale models of random 90's supercars in the loft back at home

still all in boxes, never crossed my mind that they'd ever be worth anything?? they still sell mass produced cars like these everywhere dont they?

Minichamps normally get a decent enough price. The other ones are pot luck.
