im in the process of selling a 1.1i mk1 and getting a VTR and i came across these 2 and jus wondered what peepl thought, any views gratefully accepted:

1998 CITROEN SAXO 1.6i VTR 3dr Hatchback posi blue,
49,000 miles, Blue. mot & tax, sunroof, e/w, central locking, remote control alpine cd player. £1,400. ono there was 2 mobile numbers to ring and no landline so bit suspicious of it.

1999 CITROEN SAXO 1.6i VTR 3dr Hatchback
53,694 miles, Red. Alloy wheels, Front electric windows, Front fog lights, Manual sunroof, PAS, Radio. HPI check has shown that the car was a right off in 2000. The car has been on the road for 6 years with no associated problems. The low price reflects this. £1,550. ono
this had landline but cause its was a "write off" not sure bout it.

cheers guys and gals

IMO both have very low millage, find out a bit of history about the first one. Go check it out, maybe a totally different vehicle to how it is described if you understand where i am coming from.

why get a hpi on the 2nd one, it already states its been a right off, why go near it?

hpi the 1st or ask dealer if he has certificate to prove its clear

i would definately leave the previous write off alone! even if it was categorised at a cat c ( cat a and cat bare never allowed to return to the road legally) to go back on the road all you needed to do was re-mot it and get an inspection done just to make sure ure vin numbers match up! i dont think they are actually structually inspected as to the view of whether it wold hold out aswell if it was involved in another accident! also if u had a previous write off its always going to be a lot harder to sell on and chances are you lose money! definately the other one though sounds good at a good price too mate!

The 2nd one i would not even look at !

The first one sounds very cheap, i would expect that to go for a bit more than that as it is comming from a dealer, 2 mobile numbers in not sus though i dont think . I would have a look at the first one, just make sure you check everything cause it does seem a little cheap .

if the first one is trade you gonna see if they will p/x your car?

cant see you getting much on a part ex when the car your buying is so cheap! would be better to sell privately

def look at the first, just check it out very thoroughly!
