first off hello :).

im going to apologise for spelling errors, typo and genereal paragraph issues now, as i havent got a massive ammount of time to go through and correct it.

i own a nissan skyline r33 gtr which has been issues since i owned it. (someone neglected it somewhere :( ). any way i bought a citroen saxo vts 16v (year 2000, x reg) as a run around and its lasted a year and been great laugh and just genuinly a nice car to own for a run around. i needed a car for a runaround till my skylines back and because im in the army i tend to travel alot.

heres my problem. my center section of the exhaust as started to split near the clip where it joins to the back box. i got quick fit to order a phase 2 section thinking it was a phase 2. when they came to fit it the section they had was was either too short or too long, i cant remember at this moment in time but one of them had a lamba sensor on it. now either i have an old exhaust system fitted ie phase one to a phase two, or i have a phase one car. i only ask becuase im unsure if the facelift model is a phase two or not. ive been searching on the internet to find out but no joy. can anyone help please. im on a time scale to try and sort the exhaust out for work. im pretty sure the car has the cat under the car but can you really have a phase one exhaust on a phase two if the original cat broke on the manifold? or is mine a definitive phase one ? not sur when phase one cam out of production. when i looked in the cataloge in kwik fit the two phases overlapped? cheers guys bit long winded but still appreciate the time to read

If your cat is under the car - you need a cat back centre section. Which is shorter than the other.. as that goes directly to the manifold.

Im led to believe that all VTS's came with the cat under the car. So yeah you need a cat back not mani back :y:

IIRC Vts dont have the cat at the manifold and its always under the car no matter what Phase you have.

Phase 1
1996 - 1999
Old shape, old mechanics.

Phase 2
1999 - early 2001
New bonnet, headlights, taillights, front wings, slam panel, 15" alloys, change of spoiler

Phase 3
2001 - 2003
Same changes as above plus:
3 plug ECU &, post cat lambda sensor, new window washer jets, silver centre console.

Phase 2 & 3 are classed as the same phase but they differ depending on the year.

Hope this helped

it has thanks lol. kwik fit did say it had a lambda sensor on it and the one i have on it doesnt, so their catalogue book is wrong then, it did have two diagrams and my one was different to the one that ordered. i wish i could of had more information lol but i cant remember now as i have a million things on my mind with the skyline lol. i was searching for a second hand exhaust system (full with decat) as it would be cheaper than buying a center section and car as my cat is on its way out. but again lol you need to be a premium member on here to look for parts for sale lol

Don't go to kwikfit heheh, more monkeys than actual mechanics in there...

And by all means do get an aftermarket stainless system especially if cheaper. The regular ones tend to rot within 2 years so false economy.

Just get a CAT back pipe from the CAT to the rear box - don't need another in-line silencer - it'll run and sound better for it. Get a SS one and it'll outlast the car ;)

Q: Is your rear box standard - if it's not then this could alter the length of the "middle" piece needed to fix?

my cars registered nov2000 and its a 'full phase 2' 3 plug etc.

just to make it a little clearer.

All exhausts are interchangeable really.

I would just put this on

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/90020-PEUGEOT-106-1-1-CITREON-SAXO-9-91-6-00-Exhaust-NEW-CAT-Catalytic-Converter-/120806443368?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3ASaxo&hash=item1c20a00968

It doesnt have a midsilencer but with a standard back box it wont be any louder than standard.

not sure if a magnex would be a good idea on a car he uses to travel a lot uness he like constant drone!
great system, well made etc, but a deep droner.
