I need to get my car to the garage for a pressure test. It's about half a mile away from my house. I recently took the rocker cover off. Can I use domestic sealant for the quick drive there or will it be no good. Cheers.

yes, but make it very quick drive! would suggest waiting until its quiet on the roads and then going, just in case.

There is a seal on the bottom of the cover and a groove on top of the cam housing. Can i Just slot it back on with abit of domestic sealant?

do a proper job not a botched job!
they cant run on bathroom sealant forever, no matter how many tubes you own!
speaking of which, anyone got any spare, theres a leak around my bath and the shed seems so far away..

I got the right stuff in the end. I sealed it yesterday. I fired it up today and after afew mins I noticed abit of smoke rising from the bay but turned it off quick and didn't c where it came from. Will it just be because of the new seal.
Cheers.

Bump :-)
Its best to start it up again and have a look in the engine bay. Even get someone to start it and turn it off for you to make it quicker. If it wasn't smoking before then it would suggest so but better safe than sorry. Could have even spilt a bit of oil or the sealant on your exhaust?
