Ok most of you got it!

The spinning top is made of metal. Inside the base, there is a magnet, that repels the top. You spin the top to stabilise it, lift the block to lift it into the air, and the magnet is just strong enough to keep it floating but not push it any higher. You have to get the right number of metal rings on the top for it to work properly, can be tricky sometimes.
