if it was a vti with b16 or b18 would be a steal but 1.4 are quite common and i would say it would have to be mint to fetch that money imo

1.4 with 100k miles? Not sure if this is a bargain at all.
Tax'd till end of April and MOT'd until May.
someone is getting rid of a soon to be MOT failure.

they had a 90K/3 year warranty on them though, may not be all that shagged.
Its not expensive, its a car for a grand, but i wouldn't have said its the bargain of the century.
Im guessing its your mates?

90k or 3 years means the warranty expired in 2001...

Yeah I know that, but the 90K bit was what i was interested.
It doesnt matter when they are done, 90K is 90K suggesting that Honda were pretty sure cams, shells, rings, shafts, bushes etc would hold up to 90K.
Thats on 91K iirc so i doubt its to past it.
What did VTRs have, 30K warranty?

No mate. I just picked up a 2003 vtr with half that mileage and s/h for £650 with new mot and tax. £900 n odd for an ek 1.4 with 100k is a rip off tbh

You cant compare them to saxo's though. Prices are created through supply and demand. There are 1000s of VTRs and no fucker wants one, these civics are rare (ish) and they get snapped up pretty quickly.
There are cheaper ones but your crazy if you think £900 for any car is a rip off if its road worthy.

Looks shit and at 1g... nt sure if srs?
I like the same shape Type R but that's it. Base models with transplants or cheap styling in terribad colours are not my thing. Just because it's a Civic don't make it good.

Exactly. I'm not comparing a saxo to a civic. I understand there's no comparison. Saxo's are 10 a penny. I've had 4 in two years lol. But best part of a grand for a 1.4 civic ek. When u can get a newer shape1.6 sport (type r lookalike) for about £2500 on a 02 plate. Also my saxo is very much road legal, a good few years newer and a good few 100 cheaper lol

A grand for a decent road worthy car seems to be the going rate, my mates just passed his test and is after a cheap car to get around in. Cheapest we've found locally in good nick is a T reg 1.2 corsa for a grand with 60k on the clock!

Well cars are obviously a lot more pricy up your end mate. My other half paid £700 for a 54 plate mvk 4 Astra with 70k t&t. My mate picked up a 02 plate corsa sxi in mint cond 67k t&t paid £750. And another mate of mine got a 1.4 type r replica 51 plate with 70k for £1500 a week ago. So as said earlier £1000 for a s reg 1.4 civic with 100k is mental

Ye I know just coz I'm welsh don't mean I never leave Wales lol. Bought my previous car from Portsmouth. I'm just saying what everyone else on here was saying.......that civic seems a bit pricy. There was one by me for sale a few months ago with a set of innovative alloys and lower miles (somewhere in the 70's) coilovers, b16 engine. Really good condition. £700ono
