Literally cannot find the heater matrix hoses. Have looked everywhere around that area. I can see one going in that sort of direction though but not another. The Haynes says about disconnecting them at the inlet manifold and the thermostat housing but I can't find these either?

Need to car tonight really!

look on the thermostat housing, theres a black pipe with usually braid around it running back towards the cabin of the car. Then to the left of the head by the engine mount there is a return pipe from the matrix going into a housing with a cap like tyre valve, trace them back

Right located both of them. Disconnected the thermostat one but still stuck with the other. There is no chance whatsoever of me getting my hands and/or tools in there to disconnect them. I've taken out the bolt that mounts that cap thing but when pulling from inside I still can't get the heater unit free. Is there a technique? It just seems the grommet is super tight...

In the end I had to get my dad down who is a heart patient with arthritis and the like haha! We tried to wriggle the clip out and it came out so far but just couldn't get it out. In the end we cut the matrix hoses just behind the final screw and got it out. Took about 4 hours though! Tomorrow is going to be a struggle. My dad said in all of his life working on cars and bikes, he has never come across such an awful job!
