Ever Been Knocked Out/Semi Conscious?

Talking to the missus about this. She was asking what it's like to be knocked out and seeing as i've done it several times, I thought i'd ask you guys.

So what circumstances and can you describe the feeling?

I've been knocked out quite a few times, only once by someone else though. Mostly through skateboarding.

Last time, my board stuck on a hand rail and I managed to fall about 15 feet face first. It was one of those where you think "There is nothing I can do here what-so-ever" and bang! I vaguely remember my eyes rolling around in my head and I also remember telling someone my name was Ashley. I was adamant my name was Ashley.

In the end I had a serious concussion, a broken nose and a broken cheek bone.

Strangest

Since I was about 2 I've broken my nose 7 times. General pissing about, football, skateboarding and so on.

When I was 2 I decided it would be a good idea to try skateboarding while wearing roller skates. Funnily enough, it didn't go well. I ate concrete and broke my nose. Straight to hospital, straight into theatre and out again with strict instruction NOT to hit my nose in 10 days as it needed to set.

The very next day I was on my skateboard on my knees (Like you do as a kid) and I hit some grass. Sure enough I went face first into the grass and broke my nose. Didn't even manage 24 hours.

Now for the weird bit. They took me back into theatre to reset my nose (again) The nurse did the usual "count to 10" and as usual, I made it to about 5 and off I went. Out cold! The next thing I remember is seeing a couple of doctors looking down on me with a bright light. I was still being operated on and had come around earlier than I should have done. A quick injection and back off to the land of nod I went.

I always insisted to my parents that I woke up in an operation. They always dismissed it as a dream. Couple of years ago I was mugged and had to be operated on. I reminded my mum of what I remember and she spoke to the doctors. Sure enough, in my file there was a note stating that i'd woken up half way through a procedure and had to be put out again.

That was a longer post than I expected...

Never, taken several beatings. Several kicks to the head in karate, tree face plants in mountain biking. Never been knocked out. I'm built like a brick lol.

Only time I think I've been knocked out is when i was like 7 and had a tooth removed, they had to knock me out because i wouldn't stop screaming... Strange seeing as I would constantly smash into walls when i was like 2

I faceplanted after trying to 720 a set when I used to skate.
I dont remember it much, but I knocked myself out then/blacked out/whatever for about 15-20seconds according to mates that were there.
I remember getting up and falling over face 1st again, broke my nose and my jaw.

Luckily, I had my year 11 school photo's the day before!

I been knocked out many times in bangers. mainly head hitting the b pillar. or a full chat follow in and head butting the steering wheel.
some times you dont get knockrd out but very dazed . well fummy driving with blured vision and your eyes sort of rolling about and then just aiming for another car. every thing is sort of slow motion

Closest i been when I was at school some lad got pissed off because I caught him out at rounders so he decided to walk over and smack me in the face with the bat dislocated my jaw and made all my gums black everything went distant for 30 seconds or so still managed to get the prick.

Nope never, even been kicked in the jaw/chin a number of times while sparring, passed out twice though, first time for un-known reasons, was tested for epilepsy (nearly sure that's spelt wrong) but came up clear, second time was in the dentist just stood up too fast after getting teeth out and off I went haha

Only times for me are being knocked out for an operation, strange feeling. Almost creeps up your arm and then bam, out cold. Other time is when I was ill and stood up to quick. All I remember is falling over and waking up a few moments later.

once i used to do abit of fighting when i was younger (in a ring) and i was quite good so i said to my mate id fight him who's a semi pro kickboxer. i remember the bell and waking up on a bench outside the ring lol. apparently he kicked me in the side of the head and i was gone lol. never again.

I was sparring a 17 stone bloke at kick boxing. Bearing in mind I fight at 70kg (11 stone) we were just doing round robin where you switch partners. Caught him with a few and he didn't like it I rolled a jab only to roll into his hook which caught me straight on the chin! Didn't ko me but I blacked out for like 2 seconds and he had to catch me else I'd have been down lol! All I did was make me need a shit and all my gristle in my ears hurt lol

I was knocked out for an hour or so after I rode my bike into a telegraph pole.

I remember breifly opening my eyes n seeing blue skys as though I was the dead person in a film seeing the sky as hes dieing. Then I fell back into being knocked out lol.

Never happened, iv come off the bmx a few times in my time, dropping 10+ft, and usually just hit the floor, and started laughing :/

Even when my head was crushed by a digger, breaking my jaw and cheek bone, it didn't knock me out!

P.S I'm not counting getting put to sleep in a hospital, because quite frankly, thats not really getting knocked out, because its a controlled environment, and not like you will get concussion

horse tripped up and flipped over into a wooden wall. i got flipped into said wall before he hit it and blacked out and had a horrendous nose bleed
after giving birth they try and make you walk to the toilet, a nurse walked me there and i collapsed as she was sitting me down. wasn't allowed out of bed for three days after incase i did it again, was awful
only times i've ever been out of it bar drinking/medical reasons

As far as I know I've only been knocked out once. I was absolutely smashed up town, can't remember what happened but apparently I got caught up in someone else's fight as I walked past and was hit completely unexpected. As I was so out of it already I went down and smashed my head on the corner of a step. Was out for a few minutes apparently but the next thing I remember was being outside saying ill kill the bastard lmfao!

Had some pretty big falls as a kid but never been knocked out. Fainted at my nans last year, was tired and pretty hungry and probably handnt drunk enough. Stood up quick and though "I hate this feeling whe..." Next thing I'm picking myself up off the floor with my grandparents laughing at me! Lol.

Hated going under in hospital too, they count from 10 and I think haha yeah I ain't going to sleep, 5 seconds down and it's easy, I'll stay awake all day. 3,2 and I'm gone.

I've stuck to my mounting biking ever since, I think I was about 13-14 at the time.

The first time i donated blood. They kept me on the bed longer than usual as they do first timers. Said i was fine, BP was normal and bleeding had stopped. Got up, walked to the tea and biscuit area where ALL the people old enough to donate from 6th form were, pulled the chair out, and then boom im on the floor. Apparantly i siad 'here we go' as i passed out. My arm started bleeding heavily again and i was out for about 5 minutes, woke up wanting to throw up and ended up with a bruise all down my forearm from the bleeding. Not to mention the fact that i was the first time fainter and have ever since had to bear that humiliation.


Edit: In fact i have been Knocked out once!! Golfjay may well remember this, but at a big cruise/car meet in the area i happened to get run over by a car with no one in it. I remember being stood in front of it, with a friend and her daughter, then next thing im on the floor with about 100 people around me haha

Car crash, it was a weird one because I can't remember if I was knocked out? I assume that means I was knocked out lol.

A few years ago now, my mate passed his test THAT day, I worked at BP petrol station, he turned up to fill up as I was finishing, he raced my other mate's Metro (we were in a 1.2 8v clio with crackerbread tyres).

Tried to take a roundabout @ 75, over steered, across the central reservation, caught the back end of a petrol tanker and ploughed into a tree. I didn't have my seatbelt on, smashed my face off the back of the headrest, I just remember sitting there for a second and staring blankly. When my head hit the headrest, it went all white, I remember the car hissing and scrambling to get out thinking it was going to blow up.

Scariest day of my life, still have the lump on my head to this day.

Didn't go to hospital, I remember going back to the BP telling them I wouldn't be in tomorrow and went home, fell to sleep on the sofa for a few hours.

I've been knocked out twice, both whilst playing football.

First time we were training and it was the middle of the Summer a good 7/8 years ago, the pitch was absolutely rock hard (like concrete) as it hadn't rained for weeks and it was really hot, I took the keeper on and was about to tap it in when I stopped on the line, the defender tried to sweep the ball from under me but just took my legs and I hit my head so hard on the floor. I don't remember much about it, just somebody pretending to kick me and one of the coaches chucking water over me.
I ended up going to hospital as I apparently I didn't know my name, couldn't walk in a straight line etc. ever since this happened I suffer from horrendous migranes!

The second time was in a game, ball dropped into center midfield after a header, I stooped down to head it and the guy went to knee the ball but knees me in the face.
I was KO'd for a minute or two with blood everywhere.
