Hello,
Welcome to my glorious progress thread about living alone, with my best mate.
It started out fine and dandy, barrel of laughs and easy going.
And now?
He has a new gf who stays over when she can (18 times a month) I feel a bit uneasy about this as I pay half the rent not a third.
All moving out in July, into a house with 2 more mates, and we asked my initial one, but he said he wouldn't like the limitation, even though on the tenancy agreement it says 3 times a week is a maximum.
How would you guys feel and what would you do, if your flatmates gf was over all the time?
Regards
Prickle

Ask him for mates rates with his gf or you`ll only pay a 3rd of the rent.

What does he dismissed it mean lol. Did you bring it up properly, or just briefly mention it?
I get where you're coming from, it would annoy me aswell, not being able to watch my own tv in my own front room because they're hogging it etc etc..

3rd of the rent isn't applicable as he pays bills as part 1 says
I couldn't remember what I had named the first one
I mentioned it properly he didn't see why I had a problem, and got very defensive, talking about 3-4 of us, he looked it up and finally said he can see where i'm coming from

Our lass stops all time, most weekends in fact. She don't pay anything, but that's cos it's my house and my rules.
How ever I do see your point. Is she using the facilities? Not just his cock?

Well i can see why its your rules tbh
Yeah, using communal goods (tea etc) me and flatmate take turns, uses his bathroom as he has ensuite, check of it when my mirror suddendly went into his room without my permission

What are you bitching about? He is paying his half, I'm guessing if he cooks, he cooks for both of them, with food he bought, not food you went halfs on.. So he will be using the same amount of gas electric..
Her been there won't be putting your bills up.. If you got a girlfriend, would you say to her "sorry, you can't come round because you don't pay rent", or appreciate it if he started bitching saying he wants her to pay, for her been in the house when he would be anyway??
I hate shit like this, its pettiness that ruins friendships.. So fuck, he got a girlfriend, not like she is coming and doing her washing, eating YOUR food, and just chilling in a bath twice a day using your water and electric is it?

She does 'loads' of washing actually, and i'm not allowed to take her stuff out, which is left for days in the machine. So I have to wait days to do mine. And leaving all the washing up for me as they both dislike it
Edit: She actually bought a suitcase and lived out of it for 3 weeks straight, and did a huge amount of washing

"Not allowed to take her stuff out" If its your flat, take it out and tell her tough shit.. Tell them you want them to do the washing up, or just wash what you use up, and leave theres..
Its not hard to get over really.. Treat them how they treat you, they soon get the point..
Just don't get walked all over, sit them both down and tell it how it is, rather than letting it boil over for ages

Rey, please read about the washing etc first
And not allowed to take stuff out, as she doesn't want me handling her stuff, as if I sniff it or something
Its hard to split duties, as I don'd mind washing his stuff as he has like one cup and plate a day, but with an additional person who insists on cooking elaborate meals using pots and pasta bakes which are a cunt to clean, shall i turn round and say 'I dont mind your washing up, but i dont want to do both?'
I hear what you're saying smiith

Just say "If you are going to use pots and pans, can you at least give them a rinse out after you use them, it only takes a minute, and the pressure of the water will take most of it off".. Its what i do to make washing up easier, plate my foot, then just put the tap on full blast and let the water take the worst off the pans and stuff..
As for not touching her stuff, just say "look, if you are going to wash clothes here, other people use the washing machine, so take them out as soon as its done, or before you leave the house, or i will take them out, as you're not paying to be here, and i have a right to wash my stuff"
If she has that much of a problem of you touching them, tell her to do her washing at home..
You might get her in a little strop, but I'll put money on it will sort things!

Get some plyers and take her clothes out and leave them on floor. Say you didn't handle them. Or put padlock on it so she can't use washer

I moved in with my bird like this exact same situation by accident haha.
Difference is i pay £50 to her every week for being there and will split bills as an when, basically her being there shouldn't put extra on you but if it does, she needs to pay her way and respect it isn't just her boyfriends house.

I agree with everything Smith says, your house, your rules. If her stuff is preventing you from using the washing machine that you pay for, remove it.
If there's an argument, atleast it will clear the air and she will know her place.

Two options,
1. man up and have a dig at her.

Agree with Smiith, Man up! :A:
Everyone living under the roof pays equal - Done
She doesn't live there so she does not get a say in anything house related - Done
Cleanup after yourself unless benefiting others, e.g - She's making you "elaborate meals" Then you can be grateful and help clean up.
If she doesn't clean up after herself, leave it for her or your flatmate to deal with.
As for her stuff in the washing machine, she can either move it when the cycle is done or you will.
Alternatively she can buy her own washing machine and pay the water rates.
Such a hard life ... :homme:
TELL HER TO GET FUCKED.
She is ... just not by OP :n:

You're making it an issue, where there isn't really one?
She leaves her stuff in the washing machine, take it out.

I had it at Uni, for 3 years with the same guy and his missus.
If its there's to wash up, leave it for them to wash. If they've left stuff in the washing machine dump it out, they didn't care enough to hang it.

I've lived with lads with birds, they came and went, did their own shit. I got a bird, did my own shit, they came and went, everyone was happy.
Only time it becomes a problem is when one of you doesn't have a bird and had to stifle wanks in your pj's. Get a bird and stop moaning. As for washing, fuck it, I'd dump that shit on the floor next to the washer and put my own in.

Although saying that, i've never lived with mates. So maybe i can't see why it would be annoying.

This, if your going to use other peoples stuff like the washing machine and pots and pans, atleast have the decency to clean them up and empty them after you use them
And to the op, he can't be that good of a best mate if he's getting arsey what you have to say about it

Well said Smiith!
Coming from a girls point of view, All of you telling him to move out, man up and don't know why hes winging. It probably means you're all messy fuckers who would live in a shithole and not care. Maybe he likes a clean house and not a sink full of other peoples washing up..
And as for the washing in the machine aswell, she is obviously a trampy bitch or she would have a little respect for you AND her boyfriends house. I'd take the washing out the machine and throw it on his bed, time after time if she kept doing it.
Tell your mate and if he doesn't listen, direct it straight to her.

This thread has made my night shift more bearable :) Just man up and tell your mate. Otherwise hes not going to see the bigger picture.
If your bothered about doing their washing up you could always buy your own cooking things and once they are washed store them in your room. They will soon run out of things and need to do the washing up.

I might have totally mis read this but I think you are possibly either one of the following;
1. Gay (daily sexual feelings about your male flat mate?) [hence why you asked to move in with him?]
2. Possesive over your flat mate (due to being a Gay?)
Now I could be wrong and don't take offense by any of this because at the end of the day i'm just saying it as I see it and there is probably a minute possibility that I may have got the wrong idea...
As I can tell, you have only two options.
They are the following;
1. Shag said flat mate and admit defeat to the powers that be and embrace being gay
2. To prove that you are NOT gay then there is no other option but to shag your flatmates GF... BAREBACK
Option 1 can go one of two ways;
1. Your flat mate falls hopelessly in love with you and leaves his gf
2. Your flat mate has you arrested and prosecuted for rape
Either way, the problem of sharing space with a woman goes away.
Option 2 can go one of three ways;
1. Your flatmates gf falls hopelessly in love with you (not the desired effect) I suggest to avoid this maybe a donkey punch will suffice and keep her away.
2. Your flat mate will find out and dump his gf, then leaving you two the only people left in the flat
3. Your flatmates gf has you arrested and prosecuted for rape
It's a tough one but I hope my advice has been good
Good luck

I have my own place and i put up a mate for a bit and he met numerous girls over the 3month period that would stay over...
Just had an agreement that the girls didn't take the piss such as eating my food, and if you make a mess tidy it up
Why don't you just get more BICCHESSS round and maybe you wont feel like your mate is getting more out of the rent than you are?
Just set up some ground rules, wash your pots and tell your mates slut to wash her clothes at her own fucking house, also if she leaves her clothes in the washer for 'days' they will smell fusty as fuck....
