Interior fan not always blowing hot

Hi there people i have a mk2 saxo vts, I have just spent a bit of money on getting a brand new axle and putting it through its mot, all is well apart from the interior fan it is sometimes blowing hot then going cold I have also recognised that the temp gauge is going up to the red especially if I leave the car runnin on the spot but when I drive it it drops and the hot air will come back on any suggestions?

Sounds like an air lock to me? Tried bleeding the cooling system?

Cheers mate I wouldnt know where to start to be honest, how ever my radiator hose popped off so I reconected it and thats when the problem arose .

You say an air lock would that affect the temp gauge reading aswell?

How do i bleed it?

Can't put it any better than that! Yeah of you have an air lock it will go to the highest point in te system which is te matrix resulting in no hot air.

Just on one more thing would this problem be connected to my temp gauge going up and warning lamp coming on ? It normally takes 15 minutes with the car at a stand still. Thnaks again

If there is an air lock in the system yes since it prevents the coolant from working in the proper way.

it does, had it once after changing the coolant. The temp gauge goes through the roof lol.

To make sure you have no bubbles left, park your car uphill and bleed like you've done already. Then park down hill and do it again, it's about a 2 minute job.
