So our guniea pig is on its last legs and we suspect its had a stroke. Its in a bowl, in the house trying to keep it warm. Its breathing fast and its eyes are rolled back and it cant stand or move, dribbling constantly and not eating or drinking.

We refuse to spend £45 on a jab to send him to sleep (£8 pet, 5 Years old :/) and suggest whacking him over the head with a spade (we said this to the vets and they didn't batter an eye lid). We all thought that was a good idea until you think about it and what happens if you miss and catch its feet and it screams in agony. It would haunt you and you'd feel awful.

I can't bring my self to do it just encase that happens, could anyone else do such a thing?

saying that, one of my friends has had a couple of rabbits in the past which he's had to kill himself. Each time he took a 22mm spanner to hits head and it did the job. I'd use a hammer personally. More of a direct hit than a shovel

P.s. If I'm honest, I rarely saw this pig as it lived in the shed. It saved us on electric with the lawn mower. It had a "cat flap" and it came in and out the shed using that and just ate the lawn.
