Hay all

I'm from the SE coast around Brighton & Eastbourne area, I had a MK1 Clio but had to get rid so got hold of a saxo and signed up to the site yesterday, I got my first saxo on Sunday,
its a 1.4 special not sure what the special is all about maybe someone can,
shed some light on that for me, anyway im in the middle of wiring in new speakers and a small sub in the boot, here's what she looks like.

I am aware the last owner put a spoiler and seats out of a VTR or VTS onto the car makes it look ten times better.

If its not for an airbag it may be for an alarm?

Yes its for air bags, turns the passenger air bag off or on.

Don't know if it's just me, but it really bugs me when the cigarette lighter is upside down, or not strait. Also by the hazard switch and demister there's a 3rd button, what's that for? mine only has hazard and demister lol

My mate said i should VT kits it, its ment to turn the alarm off when you leave pets or kids in the car that might set the alarm off, once you locked it, but i have never tested it

Go for a short drive or idle to warm up the engine.

Brush on gunk or similar degreaser

rinse with a hose or watering can after waiting about 20-30 mins.

Then go over all your black hoses and plastics with back to black.

That should return you half decent results. :y:

That oil leak at the bottom front left is probably your head gasket. You can either risk cheating the system by tightening the head bolts another 20-30 degrees or fit a new gasket.

Just seen your engine bay, it doesn't look too dirty :D might be worth you getting a new air filter though?

repaint the rocker cover, refurb the rusty battery clamp, general clean, would look a million times better for probably 2-3 hours work. :)

You press that button a few seconds before locking the doors / turning the alarm on.

It disables the interior movement sensors.
Allowing you to leave people/pets in the car, whilst it being locked

Thanks Martin getting a quote from my mate about the headgasket as it's more than likely that which is causing the gunky bay, thanks for advice on cleaning, I see there is a faq on doing that Ross thanks they do need repspraying

Smurf needs to go. Looks beautiful in the sun though your car. :) Work needs doing on it though. That sun roof is shocking. How can you enjoy the southern sun without it opening!?!
