STOLEN: 2009 VW Golf 1.4 TSi - FL59 UWX
Last night someone walked straight into the house my parents are living at, straight past 2 guard dogs and ransacked the bedrooms until they found the keys to my stepdads Golf. Stolen from Cossall Village in Nottingham in the past couple of hours.
Identical to the one in this picture.
Anyone with any info please call 07733430886. I know there are quite a few Ilkeston/Nottingham lads on here.

Quick update.
Another local Golf has had the number plates tampered with. Police think it was attempted theft to cover up the identity.
No doubt get another phone call later saying it has been used in some crime or other...

Just like a golf!
Hopefully you'll get it back, which is probable due to it being as dull as porridge.

Why are some people incapable of knowing when is a time for jokes?
My parents were held up in the living room while robbers trashed the house looking for the keys. Downstairs is fucked and they then trashed upstairs before finding the keys and stealing the car.
Fucking terrifying!
Have some common sense for fuck sake!

strange how they were so keen for that car?? if they were after the keys for a top end car or high performance car then it would make sense

I understand this matter is in no way funny and I don't condone anyone's jokes.
But I think the reason behind them is the fact the car you're looking for is rather common....extremely common.
The internet is great as tool for trying to find stolen vehicles but it only really works if the vehicle stands out...say for instance the japspeed Subaru.
I doubt many people would bat an eyelid at a standard red golf driving around.
I genuinely do hope the car is found and your parents are OK but I doubt this thread will get the responses you'd hoped for.

In my case it was through lack of reading the full post.

I don't know all the details as my parents were to shaken up to talk.
However, I don't think they were told what they were after.
The car is a TSi Turbo'd, Supercharged. They're by no means slow cars. Equivalent to a 2 litre I believe.
Only posted it here as we have quite a few members from within 5 or 10 miles. Maybe they'll see this, see a Golf in an odd place and think "Hang on a minute"
More bothered about my parents to be honest but still, worth a try!

Unless the car has sentimental value, give up trying to look for it and claim on the insurance.

Guessing you have reported to police and they have come to fingerprint your house?
Have you got a crime number? so if anyone sees the golf and calls the police they can ref it.

Theres 85 of them on autotrader, is there anything unique or specific about your parents car which you could use to distinguish theirs from the others in case they have different plates on?

Actually seen a red golf today fly past me on the way to work as i was going through Trowell.
But it could of been any red golf, first one I've seen in that colour though :detective:
EDIT; Also i thought i seen that VW Camper in a Ilkeston again, I was in the car wash on Nottingham Road and it pulled up.
So I started taking photos of it and the driver but I don't think it was the right one.

I'd be an amazing security guard if i'd caught them from the 50 miles away that I live from them lol

Again, I don't know all the facts but thanks dude. Cossall is a really posh place lol My parents new house has cost them just under £450,000!

Yep, all the forensics have been done. No idea on crime number.

Unfortunately, it's just a bog standard Golf.
Right, next.
Apologies for not updating this. I've been bed bound for 3 days with food poisoning.
The car hasn't been seen. The insurance have now paid out. I think my parents are less bothered about the car itself but more bothered that someone broke into their home.
Cheers for all the serious replies!

Thats real good for the insurance to sort it out so quick!
Was it a simple process? And what sort of value did they pay? Whos their insurers, I would have thought it would take longer! Really good!

It wasn't a totally simple process due to them moving house 6 days before but not changing it on the insurance.
Admiral are the insurers. They pretty much took the police report as proof of theft and sorted a courtesy car for yesterday.
Mum has decided she's buying a Jeep to tow her horse box. No idea what the payout was though.
