Thinking of getting one of these as a run around, a little Abarth one as they look a little better than the standard sportings! Anyone know more about them? Common faults etc?

Rust
Head gaskets
Poor build quality
Very small
Aren't cheap to tax for what they are
In short, very bad choice of car, parts aren't easy to get hold of either

As poor build quality as a Saxo? I think they look quirky and it's only a run around.

It's a fiat though? So yes.
I've never understood why people go out and buy blatantly unreliable/shit cars.

As above, pretty nasty cars. Money better spent elsewhere.

Won't be much of a run around when you're at the scrappy all the time ;)
As said, much more reliable fun to be had.

I remember the Michael Schumacher version they brought out, what a joke.

Surely if its just a run around get the cheapest most reliable car you can find. Like an old corsa or something.

I remember the Michael Schumacher version they brought out, what a joke.
I see a fair few of them every now and then.
The one I seen yesterday had a twin exit centre exhaust... but with standard rear bumper, I actually laughed out loud.
Pretty sure I remember someone saying they share the same engine as the mk1 punto and that although the head gasket goes quite often, it's easy to change and isn't as disastrous as it is with other cars.
Although that is just what I've heard so I wouldn't take it seriously, it is a old fiat at the end of the day :p

Clutches are a problem too with them being F.I.A.T otherwise known as "Fix It Again Tommorow"

Utter rubbish. One of my friends experienced the old "fix it again tomorrow" for a period of about 2 weeks. He scrapped it in the end. Need one of these to get in and out:
