Basically, I purchased an item on ebay just over a week ago. I payed straight away over paypal. The user told me the item was sent on Monday via Royal Mail Special Delivery (arrives next day by 1pm).

As the item hadn't got to me by yesterday afternoon, I messaged him to get the tracking number, I had no reply. This morning I had an e-mail from ebays 'Loss Prevention Department' saying that they have "removed the listing and have suspended the seller's trading privileges".

The user had a feedback of 15 (all positive) when I purchased the item. His feedback is still 15 - so that shows he has not had any completed transactions since I won the auction last week. Which makes me think, what's he done to have his account suspended?

I have sent more messages to him to try and see what's going on, he hasn't replied to any of them. Ebay advised me to go onto paypal and fill in the Buyer Complaint Process form, which i've done. Hopefully this means I will have a 'chance' of getting the money back.

Anyone on here had these sort of problems before? What are my chances of getting the money back?

File a claim via paypal, if he cant provide a tracking number within 3 days you win the dispute and get your money back.

If the money isent in his paypal account you wont get it back, i got some subs of ebay WAY back... dident send them, filed a complaint form and only got something like 120 quid back out for the 200 i paid.

Cheers Dan, yeah i've done the claim with paypal. They made it clear on there that they cannot guarantee that I will get my money back. Shame paypal charge 15 quid for it, but then it's better to have 85quid back than nothing back!

The money could easily be in his bank account by now.

On paypal, the maximum they will pay out appears to be £120.
