Maybe I'm being monumentally stupid. Iv seen my mate removing these bearings before but I just can't do it. Do they just pull out? I can't pull them or knock them damn things out.

I am resisting the temptation to answer this-- even though in his last post he called ME an ass and he is baffled by std mechanics

Proves the point in you being a arse.
I taped mine out using a nylon drift mate. Just make sure you don't damage the bearing surface. If they are stuck tight and seized in nothing stopping you getting them pressed out. With a bearing press
Also get yourself some decent bearing grease and pack the little needle rollers full before refitting. Any problems drop me a pm done loads of these.

what bearing surface?? --they are caged neddle rollers --so no bearing surface only the axle when they are on and the cage on the outside of the rollers and if they are stuck in then edge of the cage will fold in,so you will be drifting out the cage anyway and if they are really worn --which most are then they may only be the cage left in when you take the radius arm off the axle tube .
If you can drift them out in one piece without the special tool, which has a spigot to hold needles in place , then the radius arm is too loose a fit and you need to use brg fit when replacing them .
as to me being an arse --it proves nothing of the kind ,what it proves is that people with no mechancial knowledge should leave advising of a major job like carbs /injection to those who know what they are talking about and have done it ,not just talked about it,or regurgitating info from other forums and posters who have also not done it successfully
bearing press--yeah like he wants to take both arms to someone who is going to charge him to use a press+ make up special spigotted press tool --never going to happen --just drift them out on the cage ,if it bends --so what your fitting new ones anyway
i have a press ,but i wouldn,t be using it for such a simple job --time taken to make up the tools wold be longer than the time to do it

You seriously need to pull your head out of your arse. Just because people blow smoke up your arse all day doesn't mean you are the best at anything. You don't need any special tools to press the old bearings out just a simple tube and a press you fucking crank.
Also learn to use punctuation your posts are tedious to read.

Once again the only man ever to do anything with carbs in the world EVER!!!!
