I've got a few light scratches and a couple of swirls on the bonnet, which is bothering me when you see it under street lights.

To get rid of the swirls do you need to use a machine polisher?

If you can do it bye hand what compound do you recommend?

That's all, thanks.

Try some SRP by hand or a glaze. Depending on the colour of your car try poorboys black hole or white diamond i use the black hole and to me it does a very good job!

If you have a da or a rotary then theres loads of combos!

It's hard work with a machine polish duck doing it by hand. Where in England are you?

Post some pics of marks up easier to suggest things when seeing how bad things are

Derby. I'll try get some pics of the swirls. But I doubt they'll show up very well if at all by photo. It's posi blue if that helps. I just want to give something ago my self by hand...and if that doesn't work i could get it do professionally but it seems quite expensive :(

Don't have to go professional might be forum members do it for a lot less. Ask in regional section?

You have 2 choices. You can either correct the swirls (best method but expensive) or 'fill' them. You won't really correct them by hand but its not too difficult to fill them. Srp with about 2-4 coats should get it filled nicely but you must cost it with a good wax afterwards. Otherwise it's a machine polish job. I did my posi saxo and it came out lovely but it was a few days work to get it spot on.

They're may be better products to fill with but as I'm more into correction I don't know too much about them. I know that prima amigo (a glaze which I used to great effect on my posi saxo) fills swirls too and is rediciliously easy to work with.

You won't correct it 100% by hand but you'll see a difference, depending on your washing techniques you could put them back in easily and then having it detailed would of been a waste!

I only machine polish mine every month or two. Other weeks i glaze or use a light polish by hand. It makes so much mess machine polishing too i swear!
