PLEASE take the time out to read this, much appreciated to all saxo finatics.

Recently bought a new vts. Runs perfectly when engine is on an drives really nicely.

Every now and then, seems to be after a fair amount of driving not just short small journeys, ill turn the engine off and when I try to run it back on fairly soon after turning off, it doesn't seem to turn over. It clicks when trying to turn over but its not clicking its just every time you turn the key there's one click and like its just dead. Not the battery. Considered it being the starter motor 'dying' and considered it being the ecu / immobiliser.

No one seems to know what it is or be able to diagnose it properly an every time I try to start it and try get the problem it starts up perfect every time. Like I say it seems to be after longish journeys like 5+ miles not just trips round the corner.

Only happens every now and then but every time it happens I have to essentially jump start it in second gear with the clutch but sitting still.

When it fails its just one click and the dashboard has circles on it like when loading. Anyone had this before or have any idea whatsoever it could be please? Don't really want to get an expensive diagnostic at the garage for them to replace th starter motor and find out its not even that and have the same problem.

Any suggestions massively appreciated.

Like I said after long rest periods it NEVER seems to my start.

No problems other than this. Help

Sorry to be a noob but how do you do that? And what will it or should it show? Thank you

It will tell you if the battery is being charged correctly, for example if the alternator isn`t putting the correct voltage into the battery ie too low then that could be why you`re having problems starting the car. Also a faulty alternator can drain a battery even if nothing is running.Halfrauds can test the charging rate for you.:y:

Ahh thanks, it's not the battery though as it doesnt dim when turning over and had the battery tested already! :/

This is the first person who has the same problem as myself!

exactly that same story at my end.

When you next have a problem with turning to ignition, Listen very very closely and you will hear a very faint wine coming from the engine bay, that is the starter motor not engaging for some reason, i think its when the whole engine bay gets hold, the starter motor seems to be binded somehow... Have you tried changing the starter motor?

OR it could be a bad earth? i have no idea either!

But i find that when i leave it for a couple of hours it starts up absolutely fine,

Btw, the circles on the dashboard are oil level.

If they are on the display where the clock is, nothing to worry about.

long shot but my problem sounded just like yours it was intermittent but it was the thin blue wire that goes to the starer motor had a shit connection and would not turn let the starterr turn over think its called the cranking wire
