so I got some smoked Lexus lights for the back of my car, and the right hand side keeps on getting water in it, any ideas on how to stop this happening?

I had the same problem, eventually water will corrode the metal inside and you will encounter problems. Just chuck them and buy smoked jewels instead.

Just checked another thread apparently drilling a hole in the bottom can "fix" it

Empty the water out, when you re-fit them put some vaseline on the seal or silicone sealant.

well that doesn't really fix it, just gives the water a place to escape :')
is there not a way of sealing them in?

Well, using sealant can make it a pain to change light bulbs, but grease should be enough to seal it all around. smear as much as you want, it doesn't seal when it's dry and that's why it leaks.
Also, make sure the light is seated properly before re-fitting and the metal is dirt free :y:

It shouldn't make bulb changes a pain because aren't the bulbs held in on their own board that clips into the lense?

No because you have to remove the whole light unit to get to the bulbs
Then the board un clips from the light unit.

some lexus rear lights are mounted on individual bulb holders. I remember seeing one with a dead mosquito inside so f knows how bad they're with water.

Is this a common problem of the standard rear lights or even of the aftermarket ones? Thanks.

I found that my nut wasn't tight enough, so it was letting water in.

my standard lights never let any water in, and it's only on the one side that it does it now.

That happened on my 106 diesel. :y:
I just gave the metal on the car a wipe and the seal and it was fine. bit of grease.
