My key fob and key are seperate, the key fob button has always been broke and I'm gunna get a new one from the scrappy. Ill need it reprogramming but will I need to go to citroen to get ripped off or can I do it myself?

Surely if you replace the fob itself and swap all the bits (key, electronics etc) and put it into the new fob then it'll be fine?

Do you mean the button itself has perished or am I missing something?

The whole black button on the fob itself is broke but I can still push the little black button on the electric board but nothing happens. I've changed batteries and done the 20 second thing but it didn't work so I think it's the panel itself that's broke so was going to get a whole new keyfob, that's what I needed reprogramming so wondering if I could do it myself or need to have citroen do it

If you have replaced battery's and still not working something Is broken else were so its a Citroen job and won't see much change from 100 pounds

Ebay offer a kit for around £10, you get a new case and two new micro switches (buttons) as apparently it's the small button switches that fail rather than the board.
I havent ever fitted any but its worth as try for a tenner, and the switches are more than likely require just a blob of soldier to fit them anyway :y:

If he has the black click button in place and that's not working the problem is somewhere else so replace it won't make a difference

Many moons ago, I cutted a similar sized button off of an unused remote control and fitted it. cost: £zip

Plenty of replacement parts on ebay from a quid + delivery

Admit it. Its shite.

I happen to have a luxury five hundred pound 306, turning the key in the door is a thing of the past.

so is winding the sunroof.

I think there is an ebay fix service mate. The keyfob will be OK. Just obviously something is not doing it jobs, perhaps once of the solders is broken microscopically.

Mines the same. Changed battery a couple weeks ago, dead as a dodo. Done the 20 second double click buttons after unlocking the car, nothing. Was wounded.

If i look at mine the contact plates for the battery prongs are scratched so i imagine this probably has fucked it. I would like to get some new battery metal contacts n test it once more, but other than that i'm stuck with using a key.

No, my bad boy has remote central locking.

For the record, the one in my Saxo also worked perfectly.

You'll need an after market kit probably.

The receivers (both RF and IR types) are matched to the fobs. You cannot pair a new fob using the method described in the handbook.

Otherwise, when you lock (or unlock?) your car door, someone standing nearby with a PSA fob could pair it up and use it to access your car.

This is why you need the small blue card and a dealer to get a working new fob.

Or am I missing something here?

whats the double click 20 second thing?

Unlock car with key
Press lock button twice within 20 seconds.

Surprise ! 20 extra horsepower and your central locking works like magic !:y:
