With summer coming along, having a debate with a few friends
Gas bbq's
For me they are just a cooker that's outside, it's not a BBQ at all
Others thinks they are amazing

charcoal/wood/smoke chips or whatever by a million miles gas is good for convenience but you can't get the beautiful smokey flavour!
If my house purchase goes through I plan on building a kick ass bbq!

I prefer a real BBQ all day and thats why i have one that incan use twice a decade in scotland but to those haters who want a smokey taste then they need to discover liquid smoke. That's the shit.

Exactly.. Needs to be done right, proper fire, none of this artificial shit
Bbq's are the only way we get to go back to caveman roots these days

40 gallon drum cut in half, on some legs, a shit load of decent wood burning for an hour beforehand, with a few bits a coal lobbed on at the end = perfect bbq

i prefer the fun of having to 'make' your own fire with the charcoal lighter fluid etc. A real mans job tbh

I agree and prefer charcoal. But we have a gas at the moment and it's pretty snazzy so I'm happy.

I thought BBQ food wasnt good for you, Not in terms of the fact it's sausage, but the charred deposits left on the food or something like that ?

When you cook it properly, you shouldn't have burnt food. The meat is not supposed to sit in the fire, except if you want to foil wrap some potatoes nd cook them in. That said, why use gas when you already have a gas cooker, and when you can use this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Daniels-Smoking-Chips-Volume-2-94L/dp/B004RDQZ0U

your body finds it hard to break down the carbon, but aslong as your sausages and burgers dont literally look like charcoal it should be alright lol

If it looks like charcoal you're doing it wrong imho

I use both.
A gas BBQ is totally different to an oven if you actually know how to use it.
