hi!
I know this probably gets posted tons, but I have a 1.5 D 03 saxo, and has been running fine since I got it, but during the cold weather it has had trouble firing up in the mornings, or if its been sat still for a long period. to actually get it to start Im needing to pump the throttle a little, I thought it could be a problem with glow plugs, or relay but have replaced glow plugs, and checked the relay with a volt meter and works.
I tried removing the air filter to see if that was an issue, but it still takes time to start.
any ideas?

Wait 1/2 a min after the glow plug light has gone out then try starting it.

just been out in it now, tried the waiting for 1/2 min after the light goes out, but it still wont start without the help from a few presses on the throttle. but when it has started, theres no issue in starting it again unless its stood about for few hours?

Try bleeding the fuel filter/replacing it mate.

its fine when running, so could it be a blocked fuel filter? i know there a bugger to get at. Had a look at the good old haynes book, and noticed in the book, there is a cable just below the throttle cable, fast idle cable i think it was called, anyway, mine has never had one since i got the car, so got someone to put some tension on it while i started the car, and started pretty much first go with no need to mess about with the throttle.
ive made a spacer to wedge in it for the moment, would you think actually buying the cable would help it?

yo! ok popped some of that stuff in, so we will see, guessing its not instant? in the meantime some one suggested it could be idle stablisation valve or warm up reglator ( would this be the same as the glow plug relay) any ideas?
