may be getting an aprilia rs50 soon for an unresistable price. all it needs is an mot and tax. i plan on running it for a bit then giving it to my nephew for his 16th birthday. but theres a problem... im getting it from a woman i work with whos ex husband left it there 2 years ago. hes said she can do what she wants with it so she wants rid. but she has no keys :wall:.
ive read about how to change the ignition barrel but what would i do about the fuel cap? my immediate answer would be a mahoosive drill bit and a fully charged drill but is there another, more finesseful way of doing it? cheers all.

Plenty if bike breakers around,

See what they would charge for the ignition barrel and tank with matching key.

May also need the key to unlock the seat unit to get under it to access the battery etc

you need a key to open the seat on those, sure you can do it if you pull all of the fairing off. fuel tank on those is a plastic screw on lid, so no worries about a key with that.

ah right. i havent had a good look at it really. ive only had 400cc+ bikes which have a metal tank and fuel cap.

Sorry, got mixed up, rs 50's have a metal cap on them, it's the Sr that has a plastic one.

Drill or screwdriver. Had to do it with one of my RS's. Ended up sticking a keyless quickfill cap on.

Just change the tank and buy the matching lock set?!

You could spin the whole lock to get in the seat in my rs50 try that with a screwdriver
