As title, is there any way to find out who owns a particular mobile phone number? Loads of sites offer it for a fee but Id wager that same fee on them being scams.

And before anyone asks, no Im not being a gangster lol

or pm Prickle.

It was coming lets be honest.

I don't think you would get far with that tbh as there is no freely available directory, that I know at least.

Any reason you can't call it and ask? Maybe from a random payphone if you're paranoid or the other person knows your regular numbers.

Don't ever ever do that. One decent scam is for people to call you on your mobile from a premium rate, and I mean like £s per minute and then hang up before you answer. Even if one in ten people call back they make 1000s a day

I don't understand why mobile numbers don't have to be registered to work here, as I understand it, it is European law. Then if you get nuisance calls or whatever the police know who called you (if the system work and is policed properly)

Hence why I said pay phone. Put 50p in it, ring the number, see what happens. If it's a scam, then so what, it's a pay phone.

I usually type the numbers in to google and if it's recognised it's usually because people create lists of the wanking muggy little fags scamming c-unit numbers.
