Advice on 2 holiday destinations..... undecided.

OK, i think we've decided we're going to Gran Canaria for a holiday.

Little undecided of where to stay though...

On the one hand we have Playa del Ingles
4 Star hotel.
All inclusive
Lots of nightclubs and bars
NOT by the beach ( 15 min walk ) Prob no sea view.

OR we have Puerto Rico
3 Star hotel
bars and restaurants but not as much night life as Playa Del Ingles. However a taxi could be caught easy.
All inclusive
Sea view....and I mean wow !

Both look lovely. But I would LOVE to come back after a piss up to that sea view at night of Puerto Rico :drink:

Anyone got any experience of either of these places ? I've been to Gran Canaria i know its nice. Not been to Puerto Rico.

You on about Tenerife, Its still canaries but it's playa de las americas ? South Tenny.... That was an option aswell but none of the hotels really stuck out.

Those two I posted look great... I'd be leaning toward Playa del ingles but i looked at the sea view and was like wow.:drink:

We left it to a mate to book our Ibiza holiday last year, and he booked us into a hotel about 15-20 minutes away from the strip.. We all complained when we pulled up to the hotel, but then the walk was alright.. You were out in the sun, so it didn't bother you.. Then when you had to walk home at the end of a night, it wasn't anything major, it was a nice wind down from the club we had been to..

For the better night life, and better hotel, its worth that little walk!

I also noticed most people in the 1st hotels pool were adults.. In the 2nd, mostly kids, where parents had gone for the quieter place, nearer the beach, for their kids..

Puerto Rico has such a postcard looking beach was amazing. If your going with your girlfriend then I would choose there definitely, bear in mind it is abit more out of the way from masapalomas and playa de ingles, were as you said all the clubs are.

I do agree with you.... but that sea view balcony on the second is like swaying me. I really wanted a sea view haha.

Sea view is good for a few photos when you want to show people where you stayed, after that, it does nothing haha!

Peurto rico i personally thinks a bit more quiet.. Maybe thats what your want though? Only nightlife i noticed was a built up complex of bars ' food etc Playa del ingles is a better choice if your want nightlife and the beach is one of the best beaches ive stood on!

I tripped into Playa Del Ingles from Puerto Rico and preferred it when i was thier in December.

Weathers always been cracking when ive been thier. Been 5 times and yet to see a spot of rain. In december left scotland at -5 and Gran Canaria was 29 degrees in the sun. Like that everyday near enough aswell.

Yeah, that's the downside mate.....But it easy to catch a taxi right ?

In my head I think " go to Playa Del Ingles in a taxi, get leathered, come back to a hotel overlooking the sea... Mint !

But I know what you mean. This is why I asked your opinions you all make valid points.

A taxi will set you back atleast 25 - 30 quid each way mate.

I bus'd it around the full island.

If your hearts set on Puerto Rico then go for it. Its a great spot. Has 2 cracking littles beaches we use to sit along at night with a few beer.

I hired a car while i was out there so getting around wasn't much of a problem. Playa de ingles beach is soooo long, also a nudist beach at the far end ;)

I've already seen my misses tits. lol.

I have actually been there. ( Playa del ) We stayed in a bungalow thing, Rebecca Park Bungalows ? Was OK.... floor level though and was a bit basic. TV was same size as my HTC One.

I enjoyed it. As I say i really wanted the sea view though. But as you all say, its one of those things, is a sea view worth the compromise for awesome night life.


Just looked again, apparently if you get a high up room with that Buenaventura hotel in playa Del, you get a sea view and a bottle of bubble for 15 buff. :A:
