Hey all,
I recently brought a X reg VTR from my brother in law and its my first VTR...well Saxo! In my time i've owned the following cars:
E36 M3
Astra VXR - twice
Honda Civic Type R - Ep3, Fn2, Ek9
Megane R26
Golf R32
Leon Cupra R
Fiesta ST - my most recent
I decided to buy the saxo to use as a run a round, while slowly converting it into a track car.
Any tips or recommendations of tuning specialists will be great!
thanks

whats your aim for this ie: how far to do you want to take it?

Hi Gandi
I only want to do the following:
Lower it around 35-40mm
Upgrade the discs, pads and braided hoses
Cat back exhaust
Either change to VTS alloys
Peformance tyres
Then once thats done, i'll look to replace the driver seat with a bucket seat, then gradually strip the interior out...but this is more for long term. The above is what I want to do short term... preferably before August this year.

Hi,
I'm in Norwich as well, not many of us on here..... Get some pics up of your vtr.
Are you going to do the work yourself? If not I use Bryce autos down by city boats for certain stuff I can't do myself, honest and really reasonable prices. Also I've got a number of a guy in Lowestoft who specialises in Saxo parts. Let me know if you want numbers for either of them.

Hi Wizzywig..
Will post pics up soon as ive given her a quick clean. Its a completely stock black VTR.....1 owner from new! lol
I'll do the basic stuff on my own such as oil change, change of brake discs etc, but will get someone who can do bigger jobs like suspension etc
Is your car modified? Know anyone who can help with the lowering of the car?
Yes contact detail for both would be great!

Yes mine is lightly modified, lowered 40ml front and back on spax adjustable springs, 306 gti alloys, and breaks, BCM induction, pics are on the newbie page somewhere.

Bryce Autos - 07817071837

Changing the suspension is easy mate, i'd recommend having a go yourself instead of paying someone as its all part of the fun

Normal speed bumps are fine, those square ones which you can normally drive over without noticing if you get your wheels lined up in an non lowered car are a total bugger, got used to it now and find a way round them .... But the handling and ride advantages make it worth it.
You should think about having a go at lowering but fair enough if you don't feel confident.

No action for me, just before picking her up I was told that the rear brake calliper is seized so therefore needs replacing and both handbrake cables replaced....quotes for the work is around £200.
I haven't brought the car yet luckily (was suppose to tonight). Seller said he will knock of the £200 from the asking price making it £300 for the car. Is it worth it???? And the hassle....

Well if the car is in good nick and everything else is ok then yeah its worth it, good vtr for 500 is good. Not massive jobs that need doing.

Yeah I brought it in the end, got a quote and it's gonna cost £160 to replace both handbrake cables and one of the calipers. Took it out for a quick spin and its pretty fun to drive
