cheers mate
I found a company local to me that will recon mine for 250 plus vat. but they dont have the parts atm.
Also found on ebay, reconditioned axle for 320 with a year guarranty.
Just wondering if anyone out there is cheaper.

Cheaper is never the best option when it comes to axles.

Got my recon from axles direct £249 with a two year warranty when yours is returned. Seems pretty legit

Do they normally have stock? Or do they like to recon the original?
I got mine from IM Axles and they're great. They'll post you out a reconditioned one, then whenever you've fitted it, phone them and arrange for your old one to be collected. If you do that, they'll give you a years guarantee or something.
Also, I phoned them for a bit of advice when i was fitting it and they're happy to help :y:

You need to be making sure that the pins are replaced aswel ideally, as not often that a problem is diagnosed and sorted before one or both suffers some irreversible damage. Anyone can simply change the bearings and seals and they'll probably last for the warranty period and will appear much cheaper to supply. But if things have been so worn in the first place that the old bearings have chewed into the pins then the new bearings won't last and it'll be back to square 1 again
You get a discount with IM Axles if you say you're a member of saxp..
Even though I was majorly skint at the time I got my axle, I decided to pay a wee bit more and go with IMAxles rather than Axles Direct after reading a few things on the old tinterweb. Do your homework. Buy cheap, buy twice and all that noise
