Could you start a takeaway business from a mobile catering van? There's a lot of vans delivering hot pasties to work places etc... What if it was delivering other items that were kept warm in the van? Just wondering.... Been offered a catering van in PX and instead of selling it on I might have some fun and give it to my mate to run

We have those round here that come round all the villages on certain days, fish and chips and the like. One caught fire the other week! Surprised its legal to have someone making fish and chips whilst driving around.
Suppose you would need the food hygiene agency to give it a quick checking over, and see how you are making and preparing/storing food etc
What sort of food you thinking of selling?

I know of someone that does this, bought an old Tesco delivery van (got fridge and freezer installed) and he delivers chicken and other things to gym goers I think! Don't really know much about it, but I'm sure there's money to be made.

I don't know what dishes to sell lol my mates the chef not me... It's worth a go.. If I sell the van straight on I will get around 4k... If I try and make a bit of money out of it then in a few months if it doesnt go well then I can still get around 4k for it.
Yeah the gym goers is a good idea... I was thinking of two options... either do a round in the day going to workplaces on there lunch breaks OR doing it as a ''phone up your order and ill come and deliver in the evenings''
Just a random idea lol

They make good profit by the looks of things.
Just depends where you put it.
There is a van with a hot deli in it and it sit's outside are work every day and it brings in a small fortune.
There's over a 1000 people where I work so it is a good idea.

I've emailed my local council and asked for some advice. The guy that wants to PX it used to do bootfairs... I think it has more potential than that tho. He said his pitch cost for the bootfair was £100 a week. Ouch! He made about £120 profit a week

I've seen pizza vans and hot dog trailers before. It was like trying to eat a giant chewing gum. Good luck with your business.

It's just a dropship business. The stuff is chinese tat and mainly sells to Italy or foreigners in England LOLz. It doesn't make as much money as it used to. I haven't updated any products in over a year. It's a nice suprise tho when you check your paypal account once a month. :homme:

Interesting...so how do you go about setting one up? Do you keep the stock (tat) or do you not even see if?
