Someone on CS.net selling an exhaust for my car, but doesn't have PayPal so would prefer cash collection or payment direct to his bank account.

Question is, where do I stand if he tries to bump me? Can I still claim money back that way, or not?

Thanks.

Ask him if one of his friends has PayPal?

Yeah i'll give that a blast Dan.

He's sent me pictures of it, so he definitely has it, just not a very trusting person, seen it happen too many time's.

To be honest I don't blame you, did the picture he sent you have a piece of paper with his name on it next to the exhaust?

Most people have PayPal these days, he is probably worried about losing out due to fees etc but I'm sure if you said you will cover the fees he could find a friend/relative who has it.

No it didnt have his name on, was a generic picture of the exhaust in bits in a garage.

I just checked there and he's 2 and a half hours away :(

Only reason I asked about name/username in picture is because it is very easy to pinch a picture from google and then use it as your own. Again just really proves 100% that he has it. Saying that even if he does have it and you send him money to his bank it doesn't mean that he's definately going to post it out.

Do they have Itrader feedback on cs.net?

Interesting sticky at the top of the for sale section - http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428363

Says half way down or so that you are not covered for bank transfers, worth a read.

Might also be worth a quick call to your bank, tell them what you are wanting to do and ask where you would stand if the item is not received etc. Might seem a bit overkill all this investigation work but its better to know where you would stand before making the payment as aposed to making it it then realising you have lost your money with no way to claim it back.

Tbh I have PayPal, but won't accept it,

So easy for the buyer to fuck over the seller,
bank transfer or cash on collection is all I offer.
