Any opinions on the Samsung motion sensing TV's where you wave your hands about to change channel.. any got one or had a go? worth having?
I imagine watching the porn channels could get annoying.
Fuck no I didn't want to cut from babestation to discovery science on the money shot.

Dont think that would be such a problem for you, all depends on how big you are for how much of a sweep you make with your hand each time, for me it would be a huge problem.

I immagine its just like an xbox kinect. Relatively novel if i'm honest.

Highly annoying I imagine that being.. It'll not work when you want it to, but when you happen to sneeze or something it'll flick the channel over

If you have to hold your hand up for a couple of seconds to activate it before you swipe then it seems pointless as you could just use a remote in that time, and if you simply swipe to change them it could get incredibly annoying if you're watching a film and fidget etc.
However there's a feature on some that sense if you stand up and walk away so it will pause whatever's playing etc which could be pretty cool unless it fucks up or the sensor gets dirty

I'd get pissed off if I jumped up in the break for a piss, get back and it's paused the adverts for me...

Got one here. As said already, its similar to a Kinect, but a bit more 'Responsive/accurate'. Wave your hand slightly in the corner of the screen and it activates it.
Novelty wore off after a couple of weeks, I'll stick to the remote and touch screen.

This :panic:
Combine that with the new xbox, and I can see gestures v voice command wars.

they had a demo of it at btcc of all places. yes its 'cool' but also pointless at the same time. remote/buttons will always be quicker unless they opt for voice commands

I just dont see the point in them, same with 3d TVs
If you could control it with your mind that would be worth having
But then again just wait get a xbox one and your normal tv will do all them functions and more

They do have voice command/activation shit on them, but its such an effort to get it to work properly, with the sound of the TV going, and trying to pause it to say shit.
Just a gimmick really.
And yes Blackie, it makes you look a massive twat from outside.
